Thank you so much sir. Philippines is an archipelago, which means that we are 7,600+ islands big and small. So our culture too is diverse and same goes with our cuisine, which is a combination of Spanish, Chinese, Malay and other indigenous groups or ethnicity, and some Filipino adaptations or versions of Western cuisine. Thank you.

Haley, I admire you for having the courage to go around into an unknown neighborhood alone. Your youtube content is becoming more interesting and worth watching. Have you had a chance? I've been to Manila a few times and the crime there is through the roof and some parts you just don't want to go. Not sure how she seems to make it everyplace unscathed :P With that said you will have fun, the beset part of the Philippines is in the countryside. On Luzon (the Island Manila is on) are the Rice Terraces which is an all day bus ride away through breathtaking countryside. Baggio is the same distance but another direction, pine trees grow there, its crazy and a very clean city. a little farther north is Sagada which had rice terraces although not as big, they also have the famous Coffins hanging from a cliff. Cebu island you can swim with Whale Sharks on and on. Amazing place with 7001 islands of wonders.

Having recently discovered your channel, I'm liking what I'm seeing on here and am getting inspired to immerse myself to different cultures and visit other countries. Looking forward to what's ahead.

The analogy of a "library full" was an adept way of putting it. I just picked this little tidbit..."Where there is food, people gather..." I hadn't taken the time to sit down to look at this until today, so this isn't really too timely. You're sharing and teaching... I know I've said this before, but this is the thing that I value the most in seeing your work (I suppose it's the teacher in me that looks for others who teach in their own ways). What I have seen so far is an individual who shares through self effacing experience...walking through neighborhoods and simply talking with others. This is an encouragement for anyone to get out and dive in. I recall my first experience with balut... coming back from our honeymoon almost 20 years ago, we ended up having a party in the front yard of a family home in Davao. My mother in law heard the honk of a "balut boy's" bike horn and rushed out to the street to flag him down. She got me my first balut and said it would help us to get her a grandchild. I had one of the kids in the family run down to the local sari sari store to get a liter of ice cold Coke. I had about 20 family members cheer me on as I timidly finished it and washed it down by chugging the entire liter of Coke. I have only had it once since then. Perhaps, I'll try another one since you did. Again... nice job. Keep on keeping on!

But just like u mentioned “Just like books gotta read more into it or dig deeper” Manila might be busy and crazy but there are so much people that work hard morning and night 🙂 Even though, they only make just little salary every month. They remain positive everyday of their life, and they always smile and joke around whenever u talk to them. Life should be like that - living simple as much as possible and find happiness despite of everything going on. Sure do I miss the Philippines! I also spent a lot of time doing solo trips and exploring. Almost to the point that i had seen and experienced more of Manila than some natives have. Everyone and every vlogger only focuses on the tourist spots or whats trending. When they try to vlog something else like Manila, it comes off a comedic, or in a negative or judgmental way.
