Or just mention it in the title like "gambling vid (no talking)" so we can skip them. I like the talking as well

You've had much of the same realizations I've had. I feel the same way about pretty much everything you talked about. I will say that I believe psychedelics are sometimes capable of breaking down a lot of those walls - social, familial, environmental, surmounting even, to some extent, limitations imposed by genetics.

Oddly enough, Van Helsing from the original Dracula novel is a principle example concerning perspectives, the real definition of open-mindedness, and the recent (or timeless) tendency to rush to conclusions on practically anything. I think, if nothing else, you present yourself as someone who is more than just curious, and takes the time to see things properly. Thank you for existing, it makes me feel less alone, regardless of our different frameworks. For all it's strangeness, Metal Gear Solid 2, Deus Ex, and a few other games really tackle the idea of deliberate information manipulation, control, etc. etc., in relation to the increasingly consequential interconnectivity and technological dependency humanity has. I recommend some KZbin videos by Max Derrat and others if you're interested.

My personal rule is Don't Argue With People on the Internet. I'll discuss things to death IRL no problem, it's much easier to have a back and forth and understand where the other person is coming from. But on the internet, that's extremely difficult to achieve.

Great video! I’d say communism has never happened because historically it’s always been co-opted by authoritarians. It’s really unfortunate because Marxism actually makes quite a lot of sense. Look forward to more videos like this :)

You seem to be a logician-type person, from your emails and videos. I think it's a mistake to try to develop objective truths in the quest of developing convincing arguments, for any topic. It's a common trope of we logic-minded people, objectivity only lives in the realm of abstract languages, like math, based on axiomatic rules that interact with each other with perfect symmetry and absolute certainty, and not on reality. Logical arguments work, humans are largely emotionally driven, emotional arguments are far more effective, for that, you need to find subjective thinking that can apply to the broadest possible audience. Take the most rational and logical thinker and try to have him convince the rest of the populace, and they're going to fail on arguments alone, though maybe not on authority if they're a well recognized figure. Emotional thinking is a whole other world of development, but necessary to deal with peers. Cheers.

I don't disagree

As a logic-minded person, do you think objectivity is the same as neutrality? or would you say that objective truth can contain evaluative judgements as well?

Hey! Im Totally on board with what you are saying not per se agreeing with everything but appreciating nonetheless. I do have to note however that I think your notions about IQ are flawed. Maybe you can look into papers published on the limited range of intelligence that IQ actually measures. You talk about psychology and statistics so I think you can appreciate works using the scientific method and that’s the only reason I mention this. It seems like you really want to understand even if that means correcting previously inaccurate or flawed premises. But thank you so much for your perspective I genuinely enjoyed listening:).

I love the calm voice and overhead view of the diagrams, very relaxing. I also do not argue with others about, lets say, politics. Most people are emotionally attached to their beliefs, and experience "cognitive dissonance" when confronted with facts that do not align with their beliefs. The majority of people are easily led/misled by propaganda, which is the main objective of the media today. It's all about population control, stifling critical thinking, censoring people who share actual facts, and disenfranchising people by telling them their votes count, when in fact, the election was manipulated and stolen by criminals. My motto is "facts matter", and "facts over feelings". Well done video, thanks.

Jordan Peterson is a divine genius who should be favorably mentioned in every video. Anyone who disagrees can fight me. Or not. Whatever.
@Jade-rw9yx3 жыл бұрын
Jordan Peterson says a lot of things that stand up in theory but aren't exactly reasonable. I would recommend watching some deeper dives about him by different creators on this site and that may or may not change your mind on the subject. Personally, I think he's an idiot but to each their own.
