I have a child who has wanted me to affirm his “truth” for some time. At first he hated me and didn’t want to have anything to do with me. I told him I loved him every single day, regardless of what he said or how he treated me. When you love someone, you do not affirm a lie, you tell them the truth. I love him more than society loves him. And I when everyone abandons him, I will be here to help him pick up the pieces.

Well, here’s a good way to answer that: If it caused an anim-l no harm would it still be wrong? Obviously, yes. What about forms of s-xual actions that don’t h-rm them? So, why is it then wrong? How it works is like this: 1: Define homophobia or transphobia as virulent hatred towards gay or trans people. Not simply disagreement or unacceptance of their lifestyle, but angry, even violent opposition. 2: Get everyone to agree that homophobia/transphobia is bad based on this definition. 3: Change the definition to mean anything that’s opposed to the homosexual or transgender agendas. 4: Attack anyone who disagrees with these agendas as homophobes or transphobes, even if they obviously have no hatred towards the individuals involved. The way to win this game is to never play it. Never accept even their initial definitions. Also, refuse to accept that homophobia or transphobia are even things that exist.

I keep explaining to LGBTQ+ supporters point #1. I keep telling them that homophobia is a hatred of gay people and that Christians aren't homophobic or hateful towards gay people for simply not agreeing and supporting their lifestyle choices. They just don't listen even if you give definitions and logic. A phobia is a hatred and fear of someone or something. If anything, I've met way more LGBTQ+ supporters who are christphobic than Christians who are homophobic.

6:46 Can confirm, I (a biological male) was on estrogen for 7yrs since I was 15, my Mum was told that if she didn’t let me go on HRT I would attempt suicide (something I never told any doctor or therapist because it wasn’t true) what did happen when I went on HRT was that I tried taking my life 3 times, one of which had me in an induced coma and doctors telling my parents to be prepared for the worst I also spent 1/3 of my life between 18 and 24 in mental health institutions. I detransitioned 2yrs ago and my mental health has improved in leaps and bounds to the point that I no longer meet the criteria for any mental health diagnosis.

Hey guys, My great-grandma has Alzheimer's and is on her deathbed. She married a war hero, converted to Catholicism, and had tons of kids. The term 'phobia' is from the Greek Language. I considered this for a while, but I think that the use of phobia implies fear-mongering, as if to speak negatively about them is meant to cause fear. These terms don't seem comparable to a psychological phobia such as arachnophobia.

My first taste of this pressure to 'conform' and use language that affirms only one position regarding sexuality occurred in grad school for education about 10 years ago. The professor was so angry because I would not play by her rules and use her language or engage in her scenarios. Instead, I continued to focus on the individual dignity of each child I would teach and how this innate respect would mean that I would never attack, humiliate or hate that person. She was so irritated and said, 'yes, I know you would always treat your students with care and love and respect." She wanted me to engage in all sorts of scenarios that would push me to agree that I needed to affirm the person's belief. Yet, the truth in all Christian charity, is that I can both respond in great love and yet not affirm someone's beliefs or choice. She bullied many younger students but a few, after seeing me stand up to the professor, joined in and stood their ground too. I couldn't imagine that such a short time later, this odd and disquieting class would become the 'norm' in our society. Lastly, I used basic child development information to point out why broaching these topics to kindergarten age children wouldn't even make sense-this was an age of belief in the tooth fairy and Easter bunnies and the ability to fly, so asking children to declare sexuality at this age was both irrational and irresponsible.

I’d like to even say that while individual homosexuals should be generally tolerated, the righteous public authority must resolutely condemn and forcefully suppress those who organize themselves into the heinous LGBTQ movement, promote their ideology to the public, and attempt to legislate or implement policies promoting their lawless ideas and behaviors. The comparison I came up with a while ago was that no one would call you compassionate for getting an alcoholic a beer, encouraging him to drink, and telling him how fun he is drunk. We recognize that alcoholism is a self destructive and disordered desire so encouraging it is wrong, the compassionate thing to do would to be to approach them with love and charity to tell them they have a problem and offer help

Also anal sex, especially repeated, can cause serious intestinal damage and weaken the external anal sphincter, so at the very least male homosexuality can be harmful.

Calling an opposing opinion "phobic" is just a way to censor someone whose opinion you refuse to hear. Its an avoidance strategy that is intellectually dishonest. Its a way to besmirch the interlocutor's character, portraying them as hateful, as a means to discredit what they have to say without addressing the substance of the argument. Thankfully, this tactic is losing its sting. People are overusing terms like "homophobic", "transphobic", and "racist" so much that the intended effect of tarnishing someone's reputation is happening less and less. More people are getting wise to these slurs, and seeing them for what they really are - a sign that the person using these insults is intellectually bankrupt.

Been a faithful Catholic my whole life, but several times reading the book I audibly reacted in surprise as the pieces of Catholic moral teaching “clicked”, and had to take a moment to reflect on what I’d read. It has always been a trick of corrupt movements to act as if the beliefs they are trying to impose are universal and born out of common sense. This makes it so that any issue they bring up is seen as non-partisan, which seems benign at first, but on second thought you realize it's all part of the hustle. Catholic teaching on human sexuality is consistent and non-discriminatory: regardless of who one is attracted to, the purpose of sex is both procreative and unitive, and it should only take place within the confines of a monogamous marriage that joins one male and one female for life. It would actually be discriminatory against heterosexuals for the Catholic Church to allow for homosexual sex because it would tell those with same sex attraction that God's laws on human sexuality don't apply to them , but they apply to those of us with opposite sex attraction.

Yesterday, one of my friends said she was a lesbian. Me and my Christian friend in the group said that we loved her although we didn't support her. My friend said he hoped it was not homophobic for us to think that, I told him it was not homophobic, but then our other lesbian very LGBTQ+ friend said that we were being disrespectful to her. We tried talking to the two lesbians and I told them that it wasn't disrespectful or homophobic to not support some of their choices, we still loved them as friends and all. Yet, the second lesbian I mentioned kept persisting and saying that we were being disrespectful. She said we were dismissing the first lesbian's feelings and that she trusted us, but we were in no way saying anything hateful or disrespectful. It's sad how even the nicest woke LGBTQ+ supporting atheists still fall into the same patterns and believe that you must support someone in order to love them. I still consider them both to be friends, they are some of the nicest people I've ever met when it comes to most things, and it doesn't make me or my Christian friend homophobic for not supporting our friends' gay lifestyles, Love does not equal support. Respect does not equal accept. I pray they both will come to Jesus and see his grace and his glory!
