In this video, I will be sharing the top reasons why I don't like the EcoFlow Delta Pro for off-grid use. As someone who relies on off-grid power solutions for everyday living, I have had the chance to use the Delta Pro for 6 months + now. I will be giving my honest opinion on its performance and features. One of the main reasons why the EcoFlow Delta Pro doesn't meet my off-grid power needs is its lack of power output. Despite being marketed as a high-capacity power station, I found that it struggled to consistently power my essential appliances and electronics. This was a major drawback for me as I rely on a reliable power source for my off-grid lifestyle. Its size also limited where I could place it in my living space, which was another inconvenience. Furthermore, I was disappointed by the limited number of output ports on the Delta Pro, which restricted the number of devices I could power simultaneously. Overall, while the EcoFlow Delta Pro may be suitable for some users, it ultimately did not meet my off-grid power needs. In this video, I have outlined the top reasons why I dislike this power station for off-grid use. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more honest reviews on off-grid power solutions!

Thank you for your honest feedback. I agree with you, having an expandable server rack is the way to go.

thanks for the input, i only have the main unit for now, but things considered, maybe expanding that isn't the way to go. would love a vid about the rack system you talked about, some specs and prices and how-to, that'd be great

You note this, but the issue seems to be only having one. Not sure you can not like a device for not doing something it was never built to do. Seems like you need to either get a second Pro or sell this all and get a single ultra.

What’s your average winter daily kWh used? My tiny home with 600 watt electric heat used 12kwh on the max days.

I watched a video about someone used a inverter to take a gas generators a/c power converted it to dc power then plugging it into your solar port charging the Delta Pro at 1600 watts. Good option when there is no sun available I purchased the inverter. It works well. It was only $135. A much better option that eco generators.

One reason I went with a bigger system, the power stations do not seem to have the charging capabilities for 100 days of clouds. Most advertise 60 amp charge, ok that is 3kw, but they can expand battery to 72kw, nice but charging at 3kw only takes 24hours from 0 to 100 soc. If you plan to expand on a power station, make sure you can charge it in under 5 hours. Any all in one inverter with an 8k PV input and enough panels the generator should collect dust. Even 8k pv in clouds that is closer to 1.6kw or maybe 8kw a day . Past August I knew nothing about solar or wiring, a lot easier that I thought to diy.

I have AC300 with 4 Batteries. The AC300 has 3000w Inverter. The 4 batteries totals 12,266 kwh. The AC300 with its 2 x mppt's accepts 2400w in panels. Each battery has 2 solar ports and accepts 500w+200w. Thus 4 batteries is 2800w Solar. Thus thats 5200w Solar feed. I am Over Paneling at appx 6 kw Solar input. Been running 24/7 about 14 months. I actually did ordered the Delta Pro with extra battery about 15 months ago. But canceled that order because the Delta Pro was too long for where I would have wanted it placed. If setup 2xAC300 with hub then 240 volts is attained. Cource just the 2nd AC300 with 3000w Inverter bumps Solar feed by another 2400w.

Nice video. It seems to me that the Delta Pro just isn't meeting your needs with just one main unit and smart batteries. If you had two Delta Pro's you could double the 1600W solar input to 3200W. As to the Smart Home Panel, I wouldn't have even bought that, but would use a Manual Transfer Switch or Interlock switch. The Smart Generator is really only good to charge one battery. (Delta Pro or Smart Battery) The more batteries you have, the longer it will take to recharge them. I would use a Tri-Fuel Invertor generator with a running-watts of at least 8000 watts. That has a remote start and 240V NEMA outlet plug.

So sorry to hear this. I have been happy and a big Ecoflow fan with my first two Delta Pro units. However, my third battery is being sent back for the second replacement because the first two did not produce as advertised from the start. I am hoping they get this replacement right, but they tell me that my warranty will only cover a refurbished one because my original was shipped more than a month ago. Sounds very sketchy to me, but I will be happy if it simply performs as advertised.

Could it be that it sucks for the first minute because you have set the max charge limit to 50%? The input graph seems to suggest that. If you want more solar input you might connect a 12/24/48 V battery to the xt60 input of the EcoFlow and charge that battery with a MPPT controller. In case of 24 or 48 Volt you do want a low voltage protection for the battery to prevent it from discharging to deep. If one of your MPPT is like the Victron 100/20 you can even use it internal settings for the loadport to protect that battery from being discharging to much. I do this alread for my River600 Pro once I started to have higher voltage panels then what that could handle. This setup has the added benifit that you can disconnect the Delta Pro and use it elsewhere and still have a place for the energy generated. And it also allows for low amp charging of the Delta Pro, allowing for longer and thinner cables.

Sounds like you need another DP to take advantage of those panels and for redundancy sake. If one goes down you got another one. Plus more power all the time. Of coarse during winter you going to make less solar. Snow was still covering tops of those panels, so they probably not producing. The generator you need to send back and get you the dual fuel one. Thats neat the way you have those things stacked but i think you not supposed to stack them.

ideally I will get another Delta Pro, mainly so I can run my dryer, and as a backup incase this one.... Heat on them hasn't been an issue with them stacked that way at all. Its really the only way you can stack them with the cables in minimal space, wish they had 90 degree plugs that were a bit longer.

On the Delta 2, i suppose Delta Pro also has this feature called AC always On located in to Lab Feature option. You might wanna try it out. 5:20 And i believe its user fault, you should buy a system which can supply energy to your house with full loads.

It has been set to always on forever. It does not work! It’s a common issue. It supplies plenty of power for a small off grid house just does not charge fast enough with the 1.6kw max input

Ok now Insee you are just pumping negative videos about this Delta Pro and they change each time. You situation is very specific and rare even for off grid setups. Please update your firmware it helped me and be balanced to be fair. Use the warranty if something is wrong too.

The dual fuel generator on propane with a single extra battery would be better, providing it works as advertised. But with 2 batteries the generator is not a good fit. Victron is good for off-grid systems if you want ultimate flexibility and configurability.

You need to give that DP some breathing room. They vent out the side you got against the wall.
@MapleOffGrid

It’s by no means right against the wall. There’s at least 3” of air flow around the side of it.

Best set up is buying only the ecoflow 400W rigid solar panels x2 with A Delta 2 (lithium ionphosphate :3000 cylcles until 80%)and smart invert = 800w only per microcinverter...then you have to use less electric gadgets, use a gas geyser,stove, fireplace. You cannot go fully offgrid with the ecoflow umfortunately, it is only for semi offgrid and saving on electricity when Grid Tied. Sorry for you delta pro sorrows😢.Godbless

@JustaCuriousity

Its just about wrong calculation. Since you have Ecoflow system i think go for another Delta Pro and 1.6kw panels. so 7.2kwh * 90% efficiency = around 6.5KWH per system. so 2 Delta Pro and 2 extra batteries might fit your need else you ll have to buy another 2-4 smart batteries for cloudy back up. OR sell those for wall mounted hybrid inverter, rack mount batteries and more panels? I tried Growatt SPF5000ES and 2 48V 100Ah batteries in series for a constant load 500 watts, it gives me 12 hours without solar panels.

Sounds to me like you have the wrong setup. Do t complain about something that you yourself are not using correctly. First of all your in the dead of winter, it's overcast, there's snow on the panels constantly. The panels you are using, there are more efficient ones out there. Do more research before complaining.

I have 2 Delta pros and 1 extra battery. They operate at about 19 precent of what Ecoflow claims. That is the worst deal I have ever got.Also the most wasted money I have ever spent .

Get a basic UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to run your router/internet/wifi. Also, sounds like you have all of your eggs in one basket Having been off grid 24 years we can tell you that's not a good place to be. Build in some redundancy. We have two inverters, 4 charge controllers/arrays, two water pumps, etc.

I do. It only lasts a few hrs after power goes off. You don’t exactly expect and keep checking that the EcoFlow is running as it should. It also doesn’t send notifications that the ac has clicked off so pretty much useless.
