I rewatched all of them in a row being in my 30s with a more open mindset. At the time I didn't like them because Batman was too grounded, I was use to the Animated Justice Leauge. But after a rewatch and being older I really liked the first two movies way more than I remember now compared to before but this one.... man you nailed everything I was thinking too.... Batman is in retirement for over an hour or something, finally takes the suit..... gets owned by Bane and now he is out of the movie AGAIN for a long time. The pacing was so bad in this movie compared to the other ones.

It was like literally skipped over just to get everything out the way so he can be the usual playboy we know him to be and Batman, but with no development of that in his origin. That was my main gripe at least

Glad this video made the point about Bane’s demise. Anytime anyone tries to defend this movie, i ask them one simple question: what happened to Bane? Did he die, was he arrested, etc? Closest answer to correct so far has been: uh....i think he dies? The point is, Bane’s role is so neutered in the 3rd act that it doesnt even matter what happened to him.

Good points. But in my opinion, the Dark Knight Rises wasn't that bad. Surely, it had its flaws, but I still love it. And as for Bane, I don't think of him as a bodyguard and a goon, Nolan portrayed him more of a partner and a brother to Talia. In fact, Bane became my favorite batman villain after watching this movie. But other than that, I pretty much agree with your review. Talia, Miranda Tait, or whatever the hell you call her, SUCKS.

I thought the payoff was perfect IMO. It showed that Bruce Wayne could live without Batman and not be depressed unlike in the start of the film. Batman was the real identity the whole trilogy. It was mentioned in the end of Batman begins. The pit scene would have been useless if he had died IMO.

He didn’t want to be Batman in the beginning of the movie. He was emotionally strained and he only came back when he was needed. Crime was at an all time low. He didn’t want to be Batman forever and he was literally going to quit being Batman in the dark knight. Twice. He wanted to quit to save lives and because he just wanted to live a normal life with Rachel. He never wanted to be Batman forever in this trilogy and it’s been explained since the end of Batman begins. I respect your opinion but I disagree. I just think the dark knight rises is the second best comic book movie IMO.

I totally agree! It started out weak and it only got worse from there. 2 hours and 40 minutes of my life, I will never get back. But to be honest, even The Dark Knight was only good because of Heath Ledgers performance. As far as direction goes, I consider it a failure of epic proportion, because it became a Joker movie instead of the intended Batman movie. But it was still fascinating to watch. The third part is just annoying in it's entirety. Sorry Mr. Nolan, but please stick to directing and let others write?

I mostly see where ur coming from and I agree with all your points. However, we all have to agree that aside from the stupid bane becoming vulnerable after catwomen shot him, this movie is still probably the best adaptation of bane. The only thing that I think that is better than this adaptation is Arkham origins. Bane has always been played as this super strong but dumb villain till the point that bane's strength is his only trait people see now a days similar to batman but at least batman has the title "greatest detective" and most comic book fans know that batman is both smart and physically strong. However, bane for the longest time has been portrayed as someone who is basically Hulk which is frustrating because bane is my favourite batman villain. That's why in my opinion, I don't hate the dark Knight rises for the single reason that bane is much more similar to his comic book self compared to other interpretations. But that's just my opinion. Anyone can disagree

I agree with the throw away ending. Bane was a force to be reckoned with up until that point and just turns into a wuss. I kinda like the very ending but wont people notice Bruce Wayne sitting outside the cafe just after faking his own death, I mean hes Bruce Wayne right?. I dont like the idea of Robin. At first I did but I've actually become to dislike Joseph Gordon Levitt.. I find it hard to see past his look and I just dont think he's a good actor. Pretty same in everything he does.

I think the film is great it’s not like the others Batman begins was a superhero origin Tdk was a crime film Tdkr is a war film which I think works with the scale I think there’s so many great moments and it’s almost perfect up until the twist which is not Nolan’s best. I don’t think it ruins the film tho bane was still a force even with the send off but it redeems itself w the ending for me it ties everything up perfectly. Robin is for the hope of the audience and it’s not out of character that’s the whole arc of Batman’s character in the film learning to move on

Late to the party. But… what? Cohesive? The plan was to use a bomb that coincidently was in the possession of the guy they wanted to make suffer with the bomb. So they had to bankrupt him to get the bomb. All to ultimately blow it up in 6 months so the previous owner of the bomb can have time to stop the bomb. And this is all happening while Talia hid her identity. She literally didn’t need to pretend to be someone else for the whole second half of that movie. But did just for the sake of movie.
