Since I talked about the KCD beers...I just realized I also wanted to mention that another part of the merch Warhorse made in collaboration with a distillery called Žufánek was the Saviour Schnapps which is called Sejvovice in Czech version of KCD and the real alcohol that used to be sold here was fruit brandy which we call slivovice in my country ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slivovitz ). It's a shame I forgot to mention it in the video because it's a rather interesting topic. I guess that slivovice is to Czechs something like moonshine to Americans because it's also traditionally made or distributed not exactly legally usually just between friends. It's very popular in the Czech Republic though.

I think this is a great time for you to finally complete KCD. It's much less buggy now, you have access to cool IRL events with Warhorse people, and you can make KCD content in the runup to the release of KCD 2. The KZbin algorithm will reward you handsomely.

This year, there were some polish developers at comic-con Prague, some of them even worked for CDPR in the past, it was a surprise for me that they never heard about Dan Vávra. He is responsible for first Mafia game, so he is very well known here, but I never realized that it's really just Czech and Slovak thing.

I actually really liked the soundtrack. Especially the main one I believe it’s called Skalitz 1403. I also like when things with a medieval setting use historically, and regionally accurate instruments too. This soundtrack of KCD gives me that nostalgic classic whimsical medieval fairy-tale vibe though. Obviously the music style is not exactly accurate to the time period, but since I grew up watching medieval movies with orchestral soundtracks my brain just kinda makes that association I guess.

Great video, but to the music: it is definitely the highlight of the game. It enhances the story and the experience of exploring the locations. It is not about being historically accurate in this case but about creating the atmosphere with music. Also, the music pieces in taverns, etc. are quite accurate.

KCD is such an amazing game, I loved every moment of it. From the map, a replica of real locations to the nature which is wonderful, you can get lost in the the woods for hours and the sandbox nature of the game just pulls you in. It's a truly European game and you can feel it at every moment, if you love medieval times this is a must play game (also Manor Lords came out this year ❤). The medieval immersion is just amazing, I even changed the audio to Czech at the very start and I can't imagine playing it any other way. The perks are great (True Slav FTW), the characters are so interesting and memorable, I can't recommend this game enough. I feel sorry for to hear that you don't game anymore, but I know what you mean. Time is a big issue as you get older, but for some titles it's worth it. People shouldn't stop playing video games, you just have to be very selective and focus on just a few worthwhile titles.

Love the game and how it depicts the area and era; stuff like the architecture, murals, artisans, farms and fields are simply chefs kiss. It's so unapologetically and wonderfully rural. But the combat system, even if based on actual historical european martial arts, always gave me a headache.

I haven't done much more than start KCD either... The cost of having several small children. I used to play Wild Hunt when I jsut had my daughter. She liked to make Geralt jump around and even learned how to kill low level enemies with an end game Geralt. But nowaday with 3, I really can only play city building type games I can pause instantly. It is really hard to follow a story and quests when you get interupted all the time in the middle of the night. I'll get to it. Eventually.

0:57 - I still use jokes and quotes from this movie even in 2024. 😀 BTW, Krless is the best medieval-like band I know and they are pretty succesful even in germany. For me personaly, I have it exactly vice versa than you, I hate 3rd person view and I don't know that many games where it's not annoying, your character is always blocking view or something. But in games with very low FOV, switch it to 3rd person can be a solution. Unfortunalely a lot of 1st person games have still very low fov which I absolutely hate, it's like playing with 3x zoom. I think that the vast majority of RPG games have 3rd person view as default just becuase they want you to see your equipment and your character, it's not really about what is better. In TES you can feel that 1st person is default and 3rd person is there just to check how you look. But ofcourse some games would be weird in 1st person, like Hitman for example, you need to see what your character is doing in such stealth games. In Hitman 2 and 3, there was possibility to switch to first person, but it was weird and I was using it only for situations when I wanted just shoot for fun and I didn't care about anything. 😀 In modern Hitman games, I think this option is not there anymore.

want to create more than consuming? you know, when the game comes out it will be the best time to talk about it, give your opinion, perspective as a czech, a million things you can say that can create content that could atrackt new viewers. Im here because of the witcher and tje folk videos, so if i wasnt subbed, a czech talking about the new czech game would be a premisse id find atractive. If i was you id even do some tourism in my country if possible, or if i was ever in one location near the ones in the game id bring it up, or even if some of the food in the game is actual traditional food id be showcasing it. I didnt play the game, only know about it because my pc is not a warhorse, but even then id be turning into the KCD guy if such a game was about my country. Ok, excuse me in advance, im going to tell you my tragic backstory, get the teesues: Im a Transylvanian Romanian, meaning i have so many things i relate to you, but because of some irish guy who wrote a book and some other american guys who made movies for 100 years, my entire culture ia curaed to be invisible to the rest, and insted i get americans making whatever they think my land is like, while my folklore and monsters are still as known as 100 years ago. Why? because they dont reeeeealy care about that place called Transylvania, they just want to make american stuff but whith some casttle in the backgrownd, a scary one, because of course my casttles have to somehow be scary, its not like theyre like other castles of central Europe, because theyre in that place many people still think is fictional, even the tourists dont care, thats why you can always get magnet fridges of beautiful castles but whith a $hitty photoshop filter that makes it look "dark and ominos" Thats why im happy for you and consider the witcher and KCD as literally the best thing that could happen to us, (since romania is in the middle of central and eastern Europe, and the balkans to the south, i consider myself as both a balkan guy and a central european) for me is like watching a neighbour whith a famous youtuber, i feel as happy as if it happened to me. Unlike my land, which is only used as an exotic backgrownd for foreign productions whith foreign stories, you have the blessing od people only knowing your country because of CKD. Im exagerating a bit but you get me. You have the power and the oportunity of teaching people about youe culture the way you want, since most know nothing, how awesome it is to have even americans thinking "Czech republic? yeah, i know, the ones whith KCD" meawhile i have to fight against huge franchises like Casttlevania and resident evil for mejtioning only 2 recent pieces of media "set in Romania". And of course people might think im a killjoy if i say these beloved franchises dont represent my actual land. So if i was you right now, id literally turn into "the KCD guy from KCD Land" going out of my way in order to take advantage of the oportunity of HAVING FUN while teaching others my culture, its a game, its fun, you have the best kind of atention in my opinion. One day i wish its my turn, its not uncommon reading romanians onlile wishing for "a romanian witcher" but while we wait for that miracle im happy to discover more about your culture through your channel because what you do is exactly what i whish i or someone else would do for my land. And of course i like folklore and medieval stuff, not to mention that is nice learning about another country and discovering things in common despite the obvious diferences. Sorry for the long comment. Just keep doing what you do because its important, and i sincerely hope to see you grow each year! Lets start whith 100k subs, i think its the least you deserve and dont consider it impossible, good luck and do what you enjoy!

Honestly this is a good video but I don't like the angle of "I don't have time". The rest of your video shows that you're an incredibly lucky person, getting to grow up in Europe, getting easy work, meeting your heroes, I wish I had your life. You can finish several missions in an hour of gameplay, and in the time you spent complaining in the video you could have easily finished the game. Imagine how much better this video would be if you instead spent time finishing the game and then made the same video but without the weird complaints and references to your extremely lucky professional life.

Yeah, in real archery, you don't hold it for several seconds like in games or movies, you draw it and shoot immediately. In olympic archery, they use very weak bows, that's why they can do it, but even there, it's like 1 or 2 seconds of holding it max. Even 40lb olympic bow is already too strong to holding it for 10 seconds like in games or movies and aiming.
