@DaebakOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the only way to guarantee that the company is good is to know someone already signed under them 😅 from my experience, there are no perfect companies haha everyone I know either complains that their company just takes their money but gives them no job, or are too involved and trying to control what the person does meaning they have to turn down many shoots and end up missing out on money 🙄 if you're a model under a modelling agency just being moved to a Korean branch you're much more likely to have fair working conditions from my experience! Also if the company tries to make you pay for the visa say no, that's illegal... /Ida *edit* oh and the only company the seems decent for entertainment only accept people that speak fluent Korean so they can put them on talk shows, all the famous foreigners are with them!

@DaebakOfficial6 жыл бұрын
no my original plan was to stay for 1 year, then when that wasn't an option I'd rather have 3 months where I could work than 3 months of wasting all the money I spent years saving (which is exactly what ended up happening) haha I still have to pay my rent and eat, even if I don't have a job you know 😅so yeah, that really sucked but oh well /Ida

Most governments easily give tourist visas because they want a lot of money to get into the country. It's unfair to the expats who pay tax. In some countries, expats can't take a large amount of their income to another country. Fortunately, South Korea isn't one of them.

No, they decided to only sign her because she already knew one person in the company (her private acting teacher). He had to fight reaaalllly hard to make the boss's WIFE (she's technically the owner of the company cause it's signed in her name, even though she has nothing to do with it) (I left this out because the video is already too long and has too much information to keep up haha) agree to sign the papers cause she basically said "who are these girls? I don't know them, why should I risk anything for some foreigners I've never even met?".. I obviously don't blame her but they basically had to make a bunch of deals with her for her to even consider Carson, but since I didn't have a personal contact like that within the company she was basically like "ew get out" hahaha even though I was the one that was the most urgent because Carson still had like 6 months left on her visa 😅 I guess she's not that into charity 😂😂 lol jk /Ida

I think you missed some key points to the story 😅 I already had an e6, i was just in Sweden for vacation :) that visa would expire 2 weeks after I got back to Korea (because i had already had it for 1 year) so I didn't arrive in Korea on a tourist visa, i arrived on an e6 :) and it wasn't a problem for me finding a company, the problem was that I didn't want to sign a 2-5 year contract again, which is the standard, since I wanted to fully return to Sweden within 1 year :) plenty of companies wanted me but I didn't want to agree to their terms ^^ that's why I decided to go with a c4 with the second company I mentioned so I'd at least have 3 months to get my shit together before leaving, but I'd still be able to make money to pay for my rent :) I hope this explained it 😅 /Ida
@Mai_In_Korea5 жыл бұрын

@@Mai_In_Korea to get a tourist visa I would have to wait for my e6 to expire, leave the country and come back "without" a visa which automatically gives you a tourist visa (which is exactly what ended up happening) :) but again, like I said, it's not that I couldn't find a company that was the problem, it was that I didn't WANT to stay in Korea for as long as they required :) I could have signed a 5 year contract but that's not what I wanted so I said no thank you :) and like I said in the video, to make a new working visa after I came back as a tourist I would have to go back to Japan again to apply for the new visa which means one more week long trip to Japan and it just felt like a huge waste of money at that point since I wasn't going to stay in Korea for very long anyways :) I'd barely make back all the money I'd wasted on going to Japan twice before having to go back to Sweden /Ida

@@robertmance1744 Actually, the DPRK would gladly use expats as propaganda material. "Look at how these foreigners enjoy our workers' paradise!" I even think Kim Jong-un would've punished the immigrations worker who turned away Ida.

In the meantime of looking for a new company, you could have gotten a looking for work visa.
@DaebakOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Yes but since I THOUGHT I was going to sign with that first company and DID sign with the second one I obviously didn't think I would need it :) (I just ended up not being able to work under the second company since I didn't get the visa, but I didn't know this until it was too late) that also means I would have to do my own taxes etc since I wouldn't have been under any company and I have no idea how to do that 😅 I would also have to prepare other documents since it's not the same as for e6/c4 and by the time my second attempt didn't work it was already too late since you need to already be on a visa to apply for the job seeking one, I had already handed in my alien registration card when I left for Japan on my last day of e6 😅 the visa jungle is deep with many dead ends and filled with grumpy old Korean men who would rather do literally anything else than their job 😅 /ida

Haha no, I decided that instead of spending even more money to go back, get the correct papers, go back to Japan again, apply again, then go back to Korea I'd just settle with a tourist visa and then go home ^^ I've had friends that actually got kicked out of Korea, not fun stuff since if you're deported you can't come back 🤷🏼♀️ /ida
