I love being a swe too for similar and slightly different reasons like getting to work with other smart people, learning the ability to create smth from scratch, getting to understand the logic behind how stuff works

Awesome video! I just wanted to say that I fully understand your take on the 9 - 5 life (it doesn't have to be specifically 9 - 5 but any set schedule). I feel like people don't appreciate it until they have experienced having to constantly work afterhours or awkward hours throughout the day like when having to run a business or being constantly on call for example.

Nice video, yet I cannot confirm the 9-to-5-life statement. Usually I cannot timebox my tasks, maybe due to the project. So everyday at EOB I need to decide when to stop, often work a little longer to reach a certain state to make it easier to continue next day, and often still think about work after EOB.

Deep Work is one of my favorite books! Cal Newport recently released a new book called "Slow Productivity" and I just finished it the other day. It complements Deep Work really well and highly recommend it.

Hello, I love your content. I am a French developer so it is really nice to have some feedback from your experience in the USA. I am curious, do you really do 9 to 5? I have multiple experiences and in each team I worked with, doing "only" 9 to 5 was considered inappropriate.

Love the advice 💪 PS: You sound really experienced in this stuff, do you know of anyone that's interested in a educational/inspiring thumbnail? I am a graphic designer and planning on perfectly recreating the ideas of content creators... So I'm planning on asking the right questions, matching the brand, studying the viewers, matching the personality... and then using the right techniques (sometimes I'd like to jump out of the comfort-zone and learn new stuff) so that I can keep adjusting till they're satisfied with their ideal thumbnail

i'd like to raise an audience and would ask for any of yours advice............... apparently i will be getting my college admission this year and i'll be required to choose particular subjects or modules that i will be persisting on towards the rest of my life so i've got 4 choices as per my ambition and scope and stuff..... 1. CS (CYBERSECURITY, DATA ANALYTICS, AI) 2. LAW (BARRISTER) 3. MBBS or let's say FCPS (SURGEON) 4. CA 5.ENGINEERING (MECHATRONICS, AERONAUTICS) WHAT DO YOU THINK OVERALL don't be bias suggest me other upcoming fields too but the whole problem is that i am as interested in computing and stuff as i am towards medicine or math's prolly because of lack of exposure that's the entirety i must say..... recommend me please because i am deciding on towards leaving my country in search of better opportunities
