Excellent footage demonstrating what happens to PVC pipe overtime with frost heave. Can’t wait to see the next videos in the series 💪

Man imagine if every tradesman working with pipe watched this video. The world would be a better place in 6 months lol

Great information here. It’s good to understand circumstances that surround different parts of the country, but the fundamentals are the same for good drainage. Seems earthquakes are becoming more frequent in the west as well. Thanks for the content 👍🏻

Interesting to see. I expected corrugated would trap more material to the point it effectively becomes the equivalent of smooth pvc on the bottom while giving "lugs" to further clogging. Plus it always seemed like a "faster slope should be better". I'll have to keep that in mind when I fix some drainage (heavy truck backed off the road, got stuck and collapsed some corrugated drain pipe from a constant spring I'll redo this spring/summer).

That pipe is a thin wall pipe and you can see they did it backwards. That is a huge issue. The pipe goes into the bell end so there is no lip. I have SDR 35 in my yard which to this point I have no problems. That thin wall point will fail every time no matter what especially in Wisconsin.

Both pipes you see in this video are Schedule 40. At the discharge end, it is a thick piece of PVC, and it is at least Schedule 40. Best of luck to your PVC in Wisconsin.✌️

My apologies then. It looked like a thin-wall pipe I believe the letters on the pipe are d2729. I look forward to your next video and please don’t think I was trying to be an internet expert. I learn a lot from your content 👍

So why is 2% slope bad? Sorry but I watched the video twice and never really heard the full explanation as to why 2% is worst than 1% for sch40.

The water outruns the sediment. When that happens, the sediment builds up and clogs the pipe.

Can't you use pvc as drainage, with holes on top and 57s on top of that?
