Valve obviously told everyone not to discuss details of the playtest but what I will say is Deadlock is incredibly fun, incredibly accessible for a moba, and people really need to get their hands on it before thew write this game off.

Deadlock is not Team Fortress 3. It doesn't aim to be. It is its own thing. But it will be a Valve title they will throw a lot of effort into, so if you are looking for a Valve game with lots of engagement from the developers, then definitely give it a try.

I have been enjoying Deadlock being in the alpha myself. I do fit into the sort of niche it's trying to fill since I've played games that were similar to it (like Super Monday Night Combat). My only concern is similar to your where I hope Valve can prove they actually give a shit about game development. It's fucking awful how they leave so much stuff to just fester and decay that other companies would kill for even the fraction of the fan loyalty they have for these games they've made, and I hope Valve understands that with the unfortunate and unavoidable hate base that Deadlock is ABSOLUTELY going to get from the most irate TF2 players that it's somewhat deserved as much as I wish people would just chill out and express their grievances calmly. It's going to suck ass trying to say that Deadlock is worth trying once it's available because you just know nobody's going to listen and it's all Valve's fault.

Finally, somebody shares their actual opinoin, instead of just blatantly hating the game, because "valve dont care about tf2 (or cs2 or something, idk) and make new game instead". You are somewhat right - the development of deadlock started around 2018. A ton of people were and are working on deadlock, that's the biggest reason why valve give less attention to other stuff. And yes, the game is probably gonna be f2p, since there are some hints at character customization. I personally was hooked up immediately, just because it's a valve game. When the first leaks and data mines arrived, I was extremely excited, because somebody was saying a lot of stuff about it, that made it sound like it was going to be kinda like the leaked early version of tf2 - tf2 invasion (not the update). Then they were saying that it was gonna be in the hl2 setting, I was even more hyped, a lot of time later they said that the setting got change, I got very disappointed and after some time the leaks got out, including the leaks of the previous version - "neon prime" which actually was not in hl2 setting, not even close. For me personally, what we have now is better than neon prime. But even though, I'm extremely disappointed by the fact that it's not the "TF2: Invasion Remake" I was expecting, I find the game to be really fun anyways. Yes - there are some flaws, but it's mostly the problem of balancing and the problem of "moba aspect" of the game (the stuns are extremely annoying, especially on some particular characters). But besides that I personally really enjoy it, sometimes there are really cool plays, the match can change drastically - even when f it seems like you are about to lose, you can push really hard and win, kinda like tf2, and it feels very satisfying. I don't believe that they will change the core gameplay in any way now, they are mostly just tweaking the balancing, QOL and a lot of small stuff. But they work on the game a lot, constantly update it, they listen to feedback, they interact with the community. There's already a community forming around the game, a lot of people are passionate about the game. Overall, I think that the game won't be a flop, like a lot of people say, it's already somewhat casual friendly, if they get rid of the most annoying mechanics and refine the balancing, I think it has the potential for becoming a popular game that can be played both casually and competitively.

@@Nykomilthen valve needs to update their anti-cheat or make a new one. A game having cheaters this early isn't a good thing

@@d0ct0rz3d4 It is. It means the developers are developing the game and not focusing on the Anti-Cheat before the game is even done.

@@Nykomil I highly doubt valve will do much anyway considering their track record of neglect with their games, the bot ban wave was a step in the right direction, however that was a temporary solution and the bot hosters are likely to come back.

Idk why every time i hear people talk about valve games they pretend cs and dota dosent exist. Cs2 has cheat problems but it gets updates and still a huge game. Dota is one of the most complicated games of all time and despite that has a giant community and gets big game changing patches. If you dont care about this games, or think that it dosent count for some reason thats just your opinion. Also Half life Alex is a game they made and a lot of people loved it. TF2 is not all it matters, it is a great game, but that dosent mean Valve SHOULD care for it. Would be cool if they did, but we are not entitled to that. People who bought it on realise, get there mony back long ago. Cosmetics are just that, if you bought them, you get them.
