I was on section 3 and got told that after 5 years of being off it I would be okay to go to America, if I went before that I would need a letter from my psychiatrist briefly explaining why i was on section. I think it's so that they know that a) you weren't on section as a result of being a criminal and b) so that they know you're well enough for nothing rlly bad to happen to you while you're in their country. Idk if that makes sense how I worded it but yeah, that's what I got told x

I really relate to That thing you said about self harm and liking when people look after it. I just always feel unimportant and when people look after me it makes me feel like I’m not invisible. Don’t be embarrassed by it, It’s not just you!!!! I love you so much and you have made me feel so less alone and different to all the things you say you have helped me so much ❤️

Same I was on a section 3 for anorexia it’s mad that I’m not allowed into America because it’s not like I was ever a danger to anyone else 😂

Thank you! Your videos have been helping me. The last two days I have been having a relapse of self harm. You have gave me the courage that I believe it is time for me to talk to a adult about it. So tomorrow I’m going to tell my school councilor.

I'm the exact same with my self harm. I used to crave the physical affection and care I would get from others looking after my cuts. its not crazy, and is more common than you think.

You can go to America even if you have been on a section 3! You might need a letter from a doctor, or to a apply for a special visa, but you definitely can. Especially if you are stable. X
@TinselFairy6 жыл бұрын
My care co told me that you can still go to America because on the form to get a visa it asks something about having mental health issues and being sectioned and if you tick yes you have to apply for a visa in a different way which is harder but not impossible. I think you just need to have been stable for a certain amount of time. Of course you can lie but that would invalidate your insurance. I really hope you can still go to America if you've been put on section 3 cause I really want to go back there one day.

To gain admittance to the United States you would either have to participate in a visa waver program (vwp). Alternatively, you would have to apply for a visa in advance. This would involve contacting the embassy and coridnating in advance.

I believe from research I have done that you can still go to the US you just aren't eligible for the Visa Waiver and instead have to apply for a Visa B-1 or B-2. Hope you can travel soon!

Is that an English or American law that you can't come to the US? As for anxiety issues (something I've dealt with myself), what works for me is distraction. Responsibilities also help because they are a form of distraction. When you know you have to get something done or take care of other people in some way. It gets your mind off yourself while helping others or getting something done. Sometimes you just power through it and say to yourself "this anxiety is boring and stupid and waste of my time." Also you're only 19, the human brain doesn't reach its full development until around age 25, so you could grow out of this to a degree or it may just become more manageable over time. But if you do need something to take the edge off, what I've found helps me is Kava tea. I don't know if they sell it where you are, but here in the USA they sell it in Kroger grocery stores and the brand is Yogi and it's called Kava Stress Relief tea with lavender in it. It's not super strong, but like I said it can take the edge off.

Lois Games i don’t think she will answer this because it’s not very helpful to people trying to recover

This would be triggering to those trying to recover, and could be considered enabling for people looking into self harming. Which, given her platform on KZbin, could be seen as irresponsible.
