Turn to bible and allow GOD to be your therapist, psychologist and psychiatrist. No man nor women fits to be one. All are sinners and without glory, all are tempted and suffer the same. All are expected to REPENT AND BORN AGAIN, to LIVE HOLY AND GO AND SIN NO MORE. All are weak in the daily fight between their spirit and flesh. All these therapist, psychologist and psychiatrist, this world provides, can do is: to deceive and steal. They deceived you through all these “diagnoses” and they steal your money, through all the pills which you “need”. In short: they poison your mind and your overall health, leaving you with neither one.

@@erictuffelmire6826 psychology i in many places considered a part of biology so it is technically a stem course, and even if it is not according to u, some other individual might have a different perspective. Personally for me, when I was going through a rough phase, a psychologist was immensely helpful in coping up with the situational stress and guided me to be a better person, so I don’t think psychology as a degree is bad to study, again it depend on choices.

This is not a message to the video poster, just my thoughts on the profession. Having been a Counselor in several subdisciplines, the work of providing therapy to a patient never burned me out. Most of the issues I've ever had are with paper work and poor management in charge of my position. I guess I learned to take my patient's issues seriously but never take them onto myself. Once I leave the office, I leave everything there. I know that's not easy for most to do, but being able to disconnect made all the difference in the world. However, if emotional labor or compassion fatigue have taken hold, you HAVE to take a break, and it's truly not about you: it's about doing what's best for the patient's. Patient's deserve a therapist who is all the way in and all the way "there" and present at all times. Anything less is adjacent--if not tantamount--to malpractice.

Ro this is such an important video that I'm glad you had the courage to share. Self care is hard for many people, but especially I think for psychologists, who take on so much stress and care for others. You absolutely deserve to take time off and achieve your personal goals and see the world! I hope you do feel encouraged to continue to share content, even just sporadically whilst you are away. As sure as I am that we all enjoy your psychological content, you're still an entertaining and fun person to watch away from that too! I wish you all the best with your travels. Please stay safe, look after yourself and enjoy every moment! Love, a psychology student that has looked up to you for a while now, and still does! Thank you for showing every side of this profession and inspiring me to keep at it xx

i wish a walk would have cured me of sh, and ed, ocd, 5 years of depression, social anxiety, general anxiety... your experience is not everyone's. millions of people are saved by psychologists and/or psychiatrists. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, but again, it isn't the absolute truth
@rd64164 ай бұрын
Finding the right psychologist truly is like dating. It takes a few visits before you understand each other and there has to be some personality compatibility for the therapy to be effective. If you feel like you aren't getting anywhere with your particular psychologist then you should keep looking. Sadly finding the right fit can be an expensive exercise too.

Well I think she's doing the right thing. She does not look like she's cut out to be a psychologist helping people out through really hard times in their life. Maybe if someone's just going to lie on the couch and babble at the ceiling for an hour, that'd be okay. But someone with real issues, with this lady? A psychologist is like, a super badass job. It is not for an average person with a degree. It looks like that's all it is anymore. Just a job for someone to get, and you have to pass some test which is presumably totally easy. And then you're immediately way in over your head, and your distraught patients just have to fend for themselves.

I have empathy for you, whilst I don't work in the same industry as you, I was probably about your age when I decided the same fate and quit my job. it was an incredibly hard decision but no regrets from it because the travel opened my mind and allowed me to grow emotionally. I learned a lot about myself and when I returned I picked up where I left things, however in a more clearer and energised manner. If I hadn't made that brave step I don't think I would be where I am at! So, anyway, good luck with your travels! ❤

I left the US to teach English in Vietnam a year ago, I start my job in Japan in a few weeks, I'll probably be there for 2 years. I have no regrets at all so far, I can't even believe how much I learned about the US by living in not-the-US; obviously I've learned a lot about Vietnam too. I've never been to Brazil but just read all the official state department warnings (from multiple countries), Lonely Planet/Fodor's guides, google stuff like "reddit brazil crime", youtube "Brazil crime documentary"/"Brazil documentary", etc... You're in charge of your life and you're allowed to live it the way you want. If you've wanted to go to Brazil for forever then you would likely regret it later in life if you didn't go. Good luck and I hope everything goes great. BTW Anthony Bourdain did an episode or two in Brazil, it might be a fun way to learn about it.

I travelled 6 weeks solo in Mexico as a female a few years ago and everyone was telling me how silly I was to be doing that and how dangerous it is. I had the best time. Just keep your wits about you, stay in busy/touristy areas and don't go out at night by yourself. Enjoy your trip!

But it is VERY unsafe depending on what cities she is going, and Im talking about very famous and turustic ones like Rio. If your GPS puts you in the wrong street they will simply shoot your car, and there are many of this streets specially around the roads that take you to other cities (Dutra Avenue).

From psychology graduate student, reconsider, psychology is overhyped. Being a psych nurse or a psychiatrist are better stable options both financially and transferable skills. I don't regret psychology but it's saturated and you literally just have soft skills like research skills etc.

Also I get so sad when people associate mental health with psychology. Or they go into psychology thinking it’s gonna be heavily mental health/counselling focused. Mental health is a VERY small portion of psychology, just like nutrition science is a small portion of psychology. Psych is literally just neuroscience, neurobiology and biopsychology. It’s honestly a big meh for me. If you want to work in mental health/counselling just study a degree in that field. You’ll most likely get a job much quicker upon graduation and stand out to employers more. You don’t have to do psychology. And I agree, the skills a psychology degree equips you with really isn’t anything spectacular compared to someone with a literature, math, engineering, or business degree. I feel like psychology is insanely overhyped.

@@PhoenixOmar26 If psychology is your passion and you’ve done your research on the degree/program, go for it. Just keep in mind it’s super competitive and the content is hella boring at times. I think it’s hard for psychologists being a care profession but we’re only humans ourselves, we need someone to look after us too. All the best dear 🌸

I'm going to apply to a new job because the hours here are slow and competitive, I don't get along so well with my coworkers, and I can't stand my boss. Both applications (that I found online) ask about my previous workplace and my employer. One says "Company, Phone, Address, Supervisor, Job Title, Starting Salary, Ending Salary" etc. The other mentions employer's name and address. So either company would really contact my boss? I don't want that; I worry she would make me look bad. I admit, I've made mistakes at my current job that she's witnessed. Not enough to fire me, but still. I mean, sure, I'm a very hard worker, and she once thanked me for it (though it sounded fake in tone, like she was JUST saying it). BUT...there were times I seemed irresponsible. I'll spare the time on the details unless someone asks for it. Let's just say she isn't so much the context-understanding type (especially since my learning disability makes me do "dumb" things). She's one of the reasons I want to leave the job: to stop feeling like an idiot and be more competent somewhere else. And that's precisely one reason I do not want her speaking of me for this other job. Meanwhile, for said mistakes, how do I know she won't mention them, thus costing me my potential new job? IS her name and address so they can contact her?

All the best for your big trip Ro! It's fantastic that you're taking time to reflect, explore your options, and see some beautiful parts of the world :) Thank you for all your efforts on this channel. If you do decide to make some travel vlogs, I'd be keen to watch!
