That’s not how any of this works. A good amount of CC have been honest about the game and criticize it for quite some time lol there’s literally podcasts on podcasts of the most popular ones doing that for years. OW suffered from a ton of corporate mismanagement and leadership issues, and a lot of that isn’t just controlled by the devs.

main issue with the game is the low skill. Tanks are 700 hp but can one shot you. The healers are braindead too but at least they arent 800 hp. 6v6 just means two tanks instead of one, which ruins the game even more. Heros are made for the 70 iq person to be able to play. "Let me pick Winston and hold one button and kill you"

I played OW since beta and last season I had 8 really miserable games in a row that exemplified all the negative traits of OW and I uninstalled permanently - even with 4-5000 bought coins left on the table. I thought I was done with the hero shooter genre because OW was the best one out there. Didn't even have Rivals on my radar. Then it came out, and I learned more about it, tried it and it brought back the OW magic that was lost - plus it's set in the Marvel universe - which I love. I'm hooked.

I loved all your content when I worked on Valorant. Loved your OW content when I worked at Blizzard. I'm sure I'll love your Rivals content even though I don't work there. I'll tell you this from the inside: Blizzard isn't capable of competing any more. Nothing but incompetent corporate psychopaths that are slaves to their revenue data. There is no holistic view of how each feature works together to make a great game. They randomly pull levels, and then if the data shows a bump in revenue, they milk that lever for all it's worth. And if the data doesn't immediately show a bump in revenue, they roll back the changes without ever giving them a chance to build upon them. There is no vision for what makes their games fun. There is no understanding of what their players want. There is no courage in their convictions or belief in is best for the players. So from top to bottom, they have no clue how to serve their players. Simply put, Blizzard is the largest collection of idiots I've ever had the pleasure of working with professionally.

I think the main thing is Overwatch is “solved”. The most fun is when no one knows the game and everyone is lost and figuring it out. If OW came out today in its current state, people would be ECSTATIC. But it’s solved. It’s a known quantity. People wanted that new OW feeling and they found it. I’ll probably still grind both. Being "hard stuck" in any rank is always on you. There are lots of good videos out there for tips. Coach Mills does have some very good ones. I think the most important thing to learn first is good positioning. You get that down and you have a great foundation to build on.

In a very similar boat to you my friend. I played Overwatch when I was 16 in high school. Got hyper fixated on it and grinded all the way to Top 500. But then it just became a struggle of just keeping my position up there. Eventually I just got sick of it and quit comp for a while. I'm not a streamer or youtuber so playing Overwatch constantly at that level seemed pointless. But of course, skill based matchmaking didn't care what I wanted. Next thing I know im 22, Overwatch 1 was abandoned during one of its most boring metas ever, and I finally quit. I played Overwatch 2 on and off, but thankfully never let myself get sucked into it again like before. But as soon as Overwatch canceled PvE we should have rioted. Should have held them accountable long before Marvel Rivals came out. Between ruining the game with 5v5 and then refusing to listen or keep their promises, they had this coming. Blizzard deserves every failure and i hope they go out of business. Because FINALLY, people are sick of their shit and moving onto something better. Marvel Rivals is the game we all deserved, with pretty much all the characters being fun in their own ways. Hopefully it stays that way, but honestly, as long as blizzard and Overwatch fails and falls from their high pedestal, ill be happy.

bad decision. rivals is in its honeymoon-phase right now - i enjoy it too, but i also see a lot of problems with the game. The gameplay is definitily not as polished as overwatch - 100 %. And it will have the same problems, overwatch had in its lifetime. Role Queue or no Role Queue. It will have those problems much faster because playerbase played overwatch before. tbh it already has the problem now - there is not a single match where someone doesnt say that we need role lock, a second tank, a second support. And they are right. Solo tanking is not fun, solo support is not fun, but at the same time, most of the tank or support heroes feel not fun to play -(first problem!) and have way lower hero numbers (second problem) - now they release the fantastic four: 1 tank, 1 support, 2 dps - im sry but they will (just like overwatch) release more dps then tank or support and thus create their own doom, because it means more people play dps and less people play tank or support. And it is no question that both games feel more fun for the overall playerbase if it is 2-2-2.

Ngl marvel rivals is ass in my opinion. So many things wrong with it personally, I just think it's similar to ow1 with the 6v6 and the style of it. But in retrospect I don't think this game will last a year personally. But again, this is my opinion, as long as you're having fun. I know ppl are going to reply with the player count but I watched a recent jay3 video of him saying he's starting to think there are bot numbers to show player counts but aren't actually real players. Because he said if you look at the leaderboard I believe, there is barely anyone in diamond +. But yet, 365k or whatever players. That seems a bit sus to me. But I think I may be Just burnt out on fps games in general.

I quit overwatch after they banned and accused me of cheating. I appealed it and they told me it wasn't up for discussion. Apparently playing junkrat on qp with a console friend is cheating idk. I am going to be honest, but rivals wasn't my cup of tea. The ranked experience of rivals was THE worst solo Q ranked experince I have ever had in a videogame. (And its not even close) Combined with that, the open Q format is so inconsistent, that even if its fun, the momment you try to grind it competitively it gets annoying fast. OW still has me, it will for the forseable future. I will prob give rivals more chances every once in a while, but rn, it will be just smth I will play casualy every once in a while. I do hope OW stays role queue, I hope it goes a separare route from rivals and not copy rivals. Rivals is its own thing, and thats fine. Let OW be its own thing too

Truue, i didn't see how bad it was until I hit plat 2, then it felt like I was going against the best dps on the enemy team who had terrible movement but would land every hs on me. I honestly think it has a really bad cheating problem, There were already cheaters in tournaments and the game just fully came out, and I don't even think ow1 was as bad with cheaters, but i've seen so many recent videos from content creators posting vids of even 6 stack players who were cheating so, I just think people are burnt out on ow and it's the new " hype train" that people fall into.

This is honestly one of the better videos i've seen about someone leaving ow. Most creators who left/shit on ow mainly just say how bad it was/is and how it was never good and that it deserves to die when all of those are at least only SOMEWHAT true (not all are true by a large amount). OW defined fps around its release and I would agree with the fact that it defined hero shooters alongside tf2. Its nice to see someone still enjoy ow at its core but move on from it after so many years. I still play it occasionally but I only can bring myself to play like 1-3 games at a time. 6v6 will bring me back somewhat but I mainly only play it as a side game when I dont want to play rivals or valorant or etc. Thank you for acknowledging how ow defined you and said what they would need to do to bring you back.

I was honestly so surprised when I saw Rivals already promoting certain twitch streamers / content creators that were wanting to play the game, giving people free in game drops to watch their channels at certain times etc. It seems so early in the game's life for them to be doing that, which tells me they have an active community outreach program that will incorporate content creators in a positive way - and isn't that smart??? Unlike Blizzard who basically acted like they couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge outside content or creators, like it was always so reluctant and 'distant' from the game itself. I can't even imagine how advantageous for the content creators it is to have an in game pop up letting people know 'hey watch this guy at this hour and you might get a free skin!' - it's got a real you scratch my back I'll scratch yours vibe and I'm down for that. I hope it goes well for you guys!

Lol marvel is not anywhere near as polished as ow2. Overwatch is Tekken. Marvel feels like mk. It's got a bright future but, I'm sure a lot of u overwatch dudes are more fed up with overwatch than enjoying marvel rivals. Let's be honest, if these characters weren't marvel characters y'all wouldn't have ever even played this shit. Marvel is new and fun but it def ain't as polished and responsive. It needs role q if u ask me

Ngl, the popup texts on screen are only somewhat nice to have in shorts. It was super distracting for a longer form video like this one, especially when typos were jumping out

I'm a new viewer, played OW1 for a bit and got fed UP really quickly. But MR IS really a new set of eyes on the genra, i mean it doesn't really invent anything but it pushs some part of the gameplay further. And i really feeling for you man, Blizzard is one of the worst game compagny of our Time. In all of they're games they just shit on the player base and run over content creator. Or insult the competition instead of trying to fix all the mess they've done . Anyway, really glad to have discovered you with Rivals , Hope this continue for a long time. Keep up the Amazing content !!

I think if there was another popular hero shooter like marvel rivals. I think a lot of players would have quit and never came back in OW1 even more so OW2.

I loved OW, have 1000's of hours on characters, 10000s maybe idk played since launch. only a comp player tbh, forcing role que was a small death tbh imo, game just changed at that point, not being able to change role's in comp matches, and having 2 types of comp was no good for me, since the game was then balanced on 2 2 2. ow2 was a mega death. It just sucks and its sad. Loved that game a lot. perhaps they can turn the ship around over time. IDK. Have not touched OW since rivals debut, loving rivals a lot. crazy to think i used to play 4+ hours a day on OW and have not at all for 1 month lol.

i always wondered when a new game will be released and I will be able to replace OW at last... i still like OW but game feels dead, people don't collaborate, you can't make groups with other randoms etc. MR is a breath of fresh air even with its flaws

Overwatch was born out of a failed project and has suffered too long from incompetent developer vision - looking at Mr. Kaplan - and too unrealistic (financial) expectations - looking at you Mr. Kotick. Overwatch2 was in some kind a fresh start and made Overwatch a better version of the original idea. But in the end suffers from its heritage. What kind of shooter will it be? Who is the supposed playerbase? Casuals? Competitives? They're trying to cater to both but it doesn't really work IMHO. Adding heroes like Venture or Hazard are the hopeless try to bring something fresh to the table but from my POV they don't fit the game. This drove me away from my once beloved game. After 2k hours the pain of playing the game was greater than the enjoyment. And I only played once in a while because there was no real competitor. Basically I was waiting for Rivals to happen. And I understand when more and more people switch to rivals. Because Netease studied Overwatch2 closely and learned from its shortcomings. And doesn't fall into the same pitfalls Overwatch2 hasn't escaped yet. Overwatch2 is not bad but Rivals has the better experience.
