Gary Smith, a friend of mine, took me to Metroflex gym in 1987. I didn't realize that Brian had just opened up the gym. He had a lot of equipment then. More than I would have expected for an individual opening up a new gym. Brian signed up me and Gary to a membership and we stayed there for about a year....when we petered out. Brian gave me the first recognizable muscles I'ld ever had. I only weighed 145 when I joined. I kept the mindset of working hard and got myself up to over 200 while I was working as a Correctional Officer here in Texas. Had it not been for Brian's encouragement, I would probably still be the string bean I was back in 1987.

This is the best gym in the world, period. Just the energy in there will make you gain 10lbs of pure muscle in a week!!! I'm glad I decided to start training there!! And Brian is a great guy.

Crazy thing is that back high school my friend and I wanted to build our own gym and kinda model it after the high schools weightroom with squat racks, bench press free weights, etc. And I’m glad this video came out because it in a sense brought me back to older times where training was a huge thing for me as well as my health 😅 and competitiveness
