I thought I could just grab a random notebook and use it until I found out that I’m actually an annoyingly picky person who want blank/grid softcover thick bond books with thin paper for brainstorming, dated and pre-structured bond books for planning and undated lined bond books for journaling. There’s still a lot more to be discovered lol

I use the spiral bound college ruled notebooks that I buy whenever they are on sale on Amazon. I'm not into pretty because I have no artistic talent at all. But I love mixing up the Scripture notes I take in these notebooks, so I write out the Scriptures on cute little note pads, also from Amazon, and attach them to the page with different washi tapes. Since I am taking the sermon notes in real time, the penmanship is pretty bad! And because I have arthritis, it makes writing nicely more difficult. But using the different sizes and designs of small note papers gives the page a more aesthetic appearance. And I never knew how tiny I could write!

Retrieval is my downfall. I love journaling and planning, but writing a book with contents and indexes is really too detailed, yet I need something so I can find an entry from my past. The Common Place book is something I want to learn, but it seems so beyond me.
@FlourishedHopeАй бұрын
The Commonplace Book is a new concept for me 🤔. I used to keep my journal entries scattered, which made it difficult to look back and enjoy the benefits of journaling. However, since discovering my 5-Part Journaling System and using highlighting stickers to emphasize important points, I've found it much easier to revisit my entries. I plan to organize my past entries into a simpler binder, labeling them to streamline both search and storage.

Is journaling more of a diary, your thoughts …? You have good handwriting.
@FlourishedHope2 ай бұрын
That’s an excellent question! I had the same confusion about the distinction between a journal, planner, and diary. After some research, here’s what I found: while these terms are often used interchangeably, they serve distinct purposes. Journal = Reflective writing and self-expression. Planner = Scheduling and organizing future tasks and goals. Diary = Recording daily events and personal experiences.
