Ain't no way I'm paying certification money grabs in order to advertise another brands product. Ridiculous how normal that has become.

It's definitely important to not work with these closed ecosystem companies who push anti-vendor/anti-consumer practices. It's very true that if a bad practice penetrates an industry, that industry goes through a downward spiral. It always starts with publicly-traded companies, because they're always investor-first, not consumer-first or employee-first. The most recent silly industry practice I can think of is how surge pricing started in rideshare with Uber, but then Wendy's decided they're going to do surge pricing as well. It's key to stop this in this industry so it's not ruined by purely profit-driven greed.

Same with companies that require you to have a physical shop to buy their coatings. As if you can't apply them outside these days.

That PPF and ceramic coating brand sounded like Amway a multilevel marketing scheme

Yo trabajé con un distribuidor de gyeon aplicando los coating y después que me salí de ese trabajo despues de haber aplicado mas de 100 autos no me dejaban comprar los coating porque tenía que pagar la certificación 😅😅

i would rather use a closed/certified use only product over an off the shelf - available to anyone product. the reason being, it puts you in a position (as a business owner) that a consumer cannot get your product unless specifically proven to be a real business. on the other hand, i do not support xpel or ceramicpro. they are ruining the market.

Agreed but only issue is if the company drops you for whatever reason . All the sudden all your ceramic coating base that have warranty wash etc are now gone . They can’t go to you anymore , that’s a lot of power to give to a company that will change things for their own benefit at any moment.

You’re right and you’re wrong. You work in an industry that makes a vehicle look better/ change. But for ase certified mechanics. That matters. That mechanic impacts the ability for your vehicle to run/ operate correctly. Personally, I will not take any of my vehicles to a shop that is not ase certified. That certification shows that mechanics competency level to accurately keep my car running properly. Not just to make it look better as your business does.

I think what he means is the average person doesn’t care . Which is true , thats Why Walmart auto is always packed .
