@@IbaLapang-ku3lc You will feel calm in every Indian village including south India and east India. North east is closer to nature, that's why it is calm. Cities obviously lot more crowded and chaotic. I've also been to north indian villages in haryana and punjab, they are really nice people but some people might find their language a bit loud or harsh. If you can overcome that, it's calm and beautiful too.

The problem with bihar is lot of shrewdness in every day life. Reason is probably harder life (cause of poverty) and conflicts in ancient times. That's makes it slightly taxing mentally to be with bihari people. You have to be smart to live with them. In NE, it's more simple and so it feels calmer.

Same thing happens in the Philippines. There is a similar inferiority complex when in the presence of foreigners (especially Americans, as if they are still under colonial rule). In fact, many will use bleaching soap to lighten their skin because darker skin is seen as indicative of being poor, and is considered somewhat ugly. What I find ironic is that a lot of Western men find the darker skin more beautiful. I love the country, and even married a Filipino. Anyway, I am a white American and I find my own culture lacking in so many ways. Other cultures just seem so rich and interesting to me. No culture is perfect, of course, but embrace who you are because you are unique!

I don't know how it would feel if I was a foreigner in India and was constantly asked if the locals could have a picture with me. However, I do remember as a kid travelling from Mumbai with my parents to visit Kodai Kanal. We met a guy on our bus. Kevin was from the UK and was touring the South of India. My parents and I had a cottage to ourselves and since it was the tourist season and Kevin had been unable to secure accommodation we offered him a spare room we had. And yes, the next day before we parted ways we took a customary picture with him. There were no camera phones then but since we were travelling and my dad, a photo enthusiast, would always carry his SLR with him.

Don't feel so bad, even with the negative feedback from this video. The fact of the matter is that selfies are fine if the intentions of others are good and they limit it to only like 2 or 3. If it's a group, the reasonable thing to do is to take just one group photo, but often times they will want multiple individual photos, and it's like...guys, I have places to be lol. The problem is when you are crowded and people hinder your movement and borderline harrass you, as well when they put their hands on you without consent. Let alone for a couple.

Hi Lali, I am from Kolkata, West Bengal. I really want to share my thought with this issue. Yes, I think this is an issue. Without being disrespectful to anyone, I want to say that it is a result of 'white supremacy'. It has been very systematically injected inside every bucolic people of British colony that whites are Supreme. It is a general tendency of masses to take selfies and photos with foreigners (white people). You will not see that they are eager to take photos with black people. I have never seen. By born we indian are black or brown. Still, many marriages are broken because guy/girl skin complexion is not white. I am not blaming anyone, but this mentality has to be change. Hope you understand what I meant to say. I am really thankful that you denied everyone with a good gesture. It is really really awkward, and I really embarrassed when I see these occurrence on road. Thanks. One last thing, apart from hindi you should try bengali also. It is very sweet language.

Hello Lali..... It's nice that you are exploring India. Your first India vlog is good. One suggestion.... Do not share the details of your stay or travel plan with anyone or whether you are traveling alone and you don't have relatives or close contacts or whatever... Yup.... People might seem nice and very normal.... But you were in metro city..... So you have to be careful..... I know.... I don't have to tell you all these.... You might know it better but still be careful in sharing your details... Safest people to ask for help are police and families with children.. Enough of me telling you all these.... Do enjoy your stay... And have fun...
@LondonkiLali5 жыл бұрын
Arnav Oza Hi Arnav, thank you for your advice, I do not give any specific details of the exact location I was staying or even the exact time I was travelling to Gujarat. As a single woman living independently for 12 years and having travelled to India 4 times I am quite street smart and I believe I can figure out who to trust and who not to trust. If you trust nobody then it ruins your experience, you cannot simply travel around India alone without engaging with people or you will feel totally isolated.
@SG-xd1sb Жыл бұрын
Reason 1: They hardly see white, Asian, or Black people around them, also most of them have never travelled outside India so definitely they are surprised and fascinated by foreigners. Reason 2: Most of the people you see in such videos come mostly from rural India or lower income groups as it can be seen from their clothes and accessories. So these people are really fascinated by foreigners, for these people its a really a big think to click picture with a foreigner, its same like clicking a selfie with a famous person or something unique like aliens 😅 (There are a lot of foreigners working especially in IT industry visit several cyber cities of India and attend corporate parties and nobody stares at them or ask for selfies.) Reason 3: Most of them don't understand the meaning of personal space but definitely they are not harrassing you because you are a female (not everyone* some of them can). As Indian women also ask for selfies.
@krato6468 Жыл бұрын
Bro, these people haven't even travelled outside their village. I've talked to some of them. It's usually their first time in a big city and they are all excited for selfies, etc. We can't really blame them for this. I guess next generation won't do it.

My daughter is in Manchester .she did her Masters in IT Management from Selford University. My Son is in Dublin .He also completed his Masters in Computer Science and working there only. Lali , Hi. Nowadays taking selfies has become a fashion or trend or most of d youngster like it at different angles. Selfies r taken by both boys and girls.Todays big big Leaders , Celebrities, Sports persons r taking selfies which gives a differnt type of feelings.but same time taking selfies with everyone even with unknown people it becomes difficult for which our conscious does not feel comfortable. It is purely depends upon the permission and liking of d individual.so U have full right to say No to Selfies with unknown people if U feel uncomfortable. But same time if they r from ur U Tube family members or friends you will definitly consider.purely itwill be urwill and wish.
