You're old phone was probably 3g. FYI If you turn off the Smart Phone screen, it should disable the prompts. Thanks for the video. I will say that once I familiarized myself with the features of the Smart Phone, I could never go back, even though I like the small size.

I just discovered Consumer cellular tonight while shopping for an iphone 11 and might be switching from boost mobile as well. I have an old iphone 5 lol and behind with the times so I need something modern and can make cheap monthly payments.

I got a tcl flip phone from boost mobile but there is no speech to text. So what's the point of having unlimited texts if you can't type fast on a number pad? My plan is only 25$ ( grandfather plan) and the call quality is good. I WILL switch carriers because of the lack of speech to text though. It's 2021 and they can't fix the text issue? WTF? Speech to text on my TCL flip phone would make everything perfect. But........

Tracfone and Safelink is the best to me, you can always get help, even 11pm at night Tech support...they'll talk to you set up your phone, Done with ease, enroll and go...you can use your own unlocked smartphone add a sim card and Done!!!

I have just gone through something similar with Boost. All I did was have the number changed. The flip phone refused to update and became inoperable. After dealing with 4 different reps for hours total, the last one asked me to take out the battery and give them one of the numbers on the label inside. Well, the phone is obsolete and not supported anymore! I tried to make a deal. Pay for the new Flip and keep my $5 a month plan. Mind you, it's an old plan that I had with Virgin who was purchased by Boost last year-ish. They said NOPE, 35 bucks a month is the cheapest plan. I'm going to Consumer Cellular! I'll get the AARP discount too.

I had to stop the video, you're too funny but telling the truth...l miss my flip phone so much, but upgraded to Samsung Galaxy A20, I'm with Safelink and have no contract or on a payment plan...if l go pass my minutes, l will add minutes to my phone and l continue to keep my same phone number!!!
