I switched 3 weeks back and drop 4 shots over Prov 1 X , further shots and great green side. I found the Z Star XV behaved straighter on drives, Titlest Volecity was much the same. Look two 5 hybrid shots in one round 205, 210 yard shots middle of the green convinced me. Drives good 270 yards on the fairway. In the UK recently some shops were doing 4 boxes for 3 too. 3 white and 1 yellow for dusk golf please !

I found the srixon stopped quicker than the Callaway around the greens in the past and I’ve stayed away from Callaway ball for that and the price

I didn’t find that and definitely on course the Callaway chrome soft x stopped a lot quicker than the a star xv but there’s also some time that I need to get used to the ball so that could be it too.

I play Srixon Z star XV, and it’s an excellent ball. Maybe for a bit of extra spin, try the “Brooks ball”, the Z Star Diamond? Another worth a look if you don’t want to spend big bucks is the Wilson Triad. MGS says it’s the closest thing to a standard Pro V1. I’ve played a couple that I found, and they seemed excellent

I used to always play the XV years ago. Been trying some different balls. Wilson Triad I've been throwing absolute darts with this year when 80yrds or closer. Only bad thing I have to say is the alignment aid is tough to see without making your own.

Played Z Stars for 2-3 yrs and fell outta love as i tried other balls. Currently playing Calloway ERC Soft and Titleist Tour Soft. Too many ppl play balls on “status” and are not playing a cheaper, better ball for them.

I changed to maxfli tour in the fall/spring. Tour x in the summer. Great balls. My spin around the green is awesome, and for the price, when DICKS puts them on sale can get them for $26 us dollars doz

I still got stockpiled 2022 TP5X. When those eventually run out (cover is dog shit) I will try out some Srixon. Tried a Z Star divide in the water a few months back. Its a permanent fixture on my putting mat.

I love the Z Star range. For me I prefer the diamond, XV and then the standard ball. TBH they are all very good and they give as much spin as Pro V1. Also the Wilson Staff Model is very good as well and might be cheaper.

Been playing the Wilson Staff Duo Soft Spin three piece ball for some time now and great price and performance..Only problem is finding them cause Wilson I believe has take them off the shelf....Thanks...

I did try those but I just found them too bouncy off the club face and popped too much on wedges which made them harder for me to flight down and control but each to their own. A golf ball is really quite the choice of preference to each golfer

I have used these for awhile. They are nice balls. Have you tried the vice pro or pro plus balls? I find they are probably best bang for your buck and are cheaper than the Srixons.

I have tried the vice balls but getting them here in Aus when I tried last time they were as much as a pro v1 because of shipping

Great review! I’m tending to use premium balls as it just helps to reduce one of the thousand variables of performance. Will switch to better value for money when I’m on a streak of lost balls. What happened to your Spider putter? 🕷️

Big fan of srixon z star and xv. Also, I really like the Qstar tours. That said, I think when I get home, I am going to try out the Wilson Triad. Has anyone tried the Triad yet?

The reality is most people need a three piece urethane covered ball which is softer than tour balls. Amateurs need the control around greens more than better players who can adjust their shots to allow for the ball. And most amateurs need the softer ball because their swing speeds aren't as high as the better players and pros
