I'm so relieved you removed the TEMU video Mint. I didn't watch it, as I know the backstory of the Company. I'm proud of you for doing your research and making the decision to take it down. It's important to share this on your Platform. Of course, people are free to make their own choices. Knowledge is power. Buyer beware....it's important to research where you are buying from. If it sounds too good to be true, it' most likely is. Knowing you and the kind of people in your Community, I'm sure they would only support ethical businesses. I'm proud of you Mint !!! 💚💚💚

Aww love, no worries. I’ve found amazing tarot decks on Temu and found the original creators selling them for 5x the Temu price so I decided not to. Lesson learned - also, do what ya’ll want. I will however buy like, a watering can or hanger here and there. It’s ok to not be 100% into one thing or another. A balance is always good.

Okay, having watched the whole video now... I completely understand your stance. I even agree with you. I wish that I had the ability to stand on morals at all times. But we ARE a one-income family (due to health issues, I spend a lot of my time in bed, and trust me, I have plenty of guilt about my own crappy body that I don't need anyone coming after me about it) and we DO have four kids. If I can't find all the clothing items at low enough prices at thrift stores, then I DO sometimes turn to places like temu to get my kids in clothes. I do try not to but anyone else's intellectual property; I will Google cute enamel pins to make sure that the design isn't someone else's or check to make sure a cute t shirt design isn't someone's copyrighted property...but sometimes, we don't have the ability to stand on moral high ground and absolutely boycott an entire marketplace. But that's just me. I'm not judging anyone for deciding to boycott. Like I said above, I agree. However, I'd ask no one judge people who DO use sites like temu, whether because they don't know any better or because they can't afford any better. Kindness costs nothing.

I rarely splurg on anything other the food or costume pieces for work... and I make most of my costume pieces using thrift store or scrap store finds. Kudos to you for taking the TEMU video down.

I had the same with aliexpress - I was so diligent about avoiding companies supporting Russia and had missed they continued their support. Felt like a fool, big fool. Just switched back to ebay for those weird items and honestly enjoy the safety of buyer protection etc, the upcharge isn't that bad for the tiny things I need.

I've purchased from temu in the past, but it's things that I wouldn't have gotten from an artist themselves. It's a good source for low cost clothes and other commercially made items. But I think of it as the dollar tree version of Amazon. And there's always a buyer beware to any company that sells online, even the smaller ones or the ones calling themselves handmade items. Just have to do your research before making a purchase.

DO NOT feel bad! It is not a Temu issue, many sites, companies do that. I have order some items from various shops, people in my same country or in the EU and have it be awful! Send broken, damaged things, the wrong item etc and not care at all. Ebay I was with for 14 yrs used it in several countries then hmm about 2yrs ago they turned awful! NOT any seller on Ebay, Ebay itself rude and demanding all kinds of info and just were really horrible. I canceled my account with them. So it is a mixed bag with all sites.

There's been eBay people selling Amazon stuff passing it on as hand made. When someone can make a scam somewhere, it'll happen. TEMU is just a Chinese Amazon. Which is like eBay. Buyers need to do their homework and do image searches to see where else it's being sold. Honest mistake!

A perfect example is I saw some press on nails on Amazon i thought about buying for 10 bucks. I went on Temu and found those EXACT SAME NAILS being sold for 2 bucks. It"s obvious that both sellers got their products from the same wholesaler. So whos more "morally right" the one selling it for 2 bucks or 10? And all the witchy dollar store hauls, which I love, is that "morally sourced" to get it for a $1.25 the person who assembled it probably on made half a penny per item. Small sellers arent excused from this. Someone who makes hand made products but gets their supplies made from china for the low putting it together and selling it for 50 bucks. Is that more "morally" correct because they made from "morally wrong" products?🤣🤷🏽‍♀️🙄😒 Lol Im not justifying whats happening here, but what I'm saying is if we are going to call out practices of one company then we gotta be real about it ALL. People gotta make a decision what's best for them but people playing delusional with boxes full of "cheap stuff" in the house from other places. Nah people gotta be real about ALL of it. Just saying.
