Thing with EVs in Police fleets is a different case for different places. Cop chases rarely happens in India (can't say the same for Northern part of India tho). So for Kolkata Police EV is the perfect choice and should be for other cities too. 1. The city is strictly urban metropolitan in structure so even the criminals can't manage high speeds within the city traffic. 2. Since most of the cars would be standby at most times, it would be cheaper to run them especially when ICE uses petrol to run AC. 3. EVs are arguably quicker in urban environments, because they accelerate quickly so exiting corners and turns in narrower streets is faster they also reach traffic speeds faster than similarly priced ICE cars. 4. They can run uninterrupted surveillance hardware on their battery packs again without consuming fuel. 5. Stations and parking positions can have a roadside charger so they can ensure uptime of the vehicles. All Police fleets have different vehicles for all kinds of purpose and I feel this video doesn't cover anything about that and just talks about some new car every state police has. There are Kalyani in several police fleets for example and those were not mentioned.

I do like your videos quite a lot, mate. That said, it’s primarily only the Dubai Police that has those exotic cars, and they’re not meant to be used as police cars as such. Then there’s the fact that EVs won’t really be great as regular police cars. Apart from the weight and complexities that make an EV, they won’t be as practical as an ICE vehicle for police forces. There are a lot of considerations that go into the production and procurement of police vehicles, the least of which has to do with the whole “EV” ideology. I think it's justified, the only thing that i would like to say is maximum they should have Indian cars, they should partner with indian manufacturers and develop a police specific car which should be heavily customized to their needs and should be purchased in bulk, cost will be less and it will be efficient and effective. it will also provide employement and keep the money in india itself.
