It’s called pudding cause it’s English and in England/ Britain any cake that you eat with a side of custard/ice-cream is automatically a pudding. (Also just in general we call any after dinner sweet treat/dessert pudding)

Dates grow in England as does vanilla , so it’s an English dessert. Easy😂

Sis..... I made this today for Iftar dessert after having saved this vid a couple days ago and it was a hit! Sweet but with a salty tang. Light, but full of flavor. In America, it's a cake form, but in the UK it's put in a tin pudding mould and steam cooked in a pot as a pudding similar way to a Christmas pudding. Then its taken out, turned upside down out of the mold and the sticky toffee dazzles down

Maybe you can reduce the amount of sugar in the cake or not putting it because the caramel sweetness that you will add on the top will be enough I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

In Scotland we call this Sticky Toffee Pudding, when pudding has baked and before serving we put a layer of sauce on top of cake and grill it until it bubbles up. Serve with cream (I prefer) or ice-cream. Enjoy, happy eating
