the biggest problem i had as a truck driver was the balance between space management and the timing to pass slower traffic. its sometimes hard to choose a good timing to accelerate. may i have your take on this sir? even though i don't operate 18 wheelers any more

it's more like going to the dentist to PREVENT toothdecay , or getting your car serviced so it doesnt break down .... that is pro-active

Yes, you are correct. And prevention is part of being proactive. The other part is that problems are inevitable. You can get checkups and clean your teeth, but for many they're still going to get cavities. You can do all the maintenance to your vehicle required, but it's still going to break down and require fixing. Being proactive though, is going to reduce the frequency and severity of the problems. As the saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." And in driving, being a proactive driver is going to reduce the amount of times that you have to take emergency action.
