The Fujifilm X100V has proved to be a favorite among photographers, especially this year it has gained a lot of attention. I bought one in a sold out market to explain why this camera is arguably...the most popular camera of 2022.

What you described... I got it from getting an old lumix LX7 and reopenning it after years in my dad's closet... I love it especially for taking blackandwhite and macro photos.

I live by the rule of not using my phone as a camera ever since i started using 35mm. Having something specific for taking photos, whether it's a film camera or a tiny digicam from 2007, makes taking photos that much more significant and fulfilling.

You’re not alone dude. I paid $2000. Supply and demand. These cameras hold their value. Even the X100F used cameras are a good option still, but they’re pricy too.

Totally with you on this. I already have the original X100 but wanted the V because it improves the experience. And like you I paid over the odds for it (but not quite as much as I got really lucky and paid only £100 more than original list price) but it was definitely money well spent. I’m going out with my X-E3 tomorrow, because I want to be able change lenses for where I’m shooting, but I’ll put the V in my bag just in case.

Hi, I have a question! Which camera would you recommend to someone who doesn't know anything about photography, wants a compact pocket camera (that makes decent photos and videos) just to replace their iPhone, and has limited financial funds to spend on it? 😂 I'm that someone, pls help

If your in the USA start a live chat with a best buy agent. You can prepay for it and they will ship you the next one coming into stock. That’s how I got mine took three weeks. I might actually sell mine

Bought it when it came out after a year with the x100f. I like it a lot just something I throw in as an extra body when I want a different point of view. Said screw it and went backwards bought the x100, 100s and 100t for pretty cheap before the latest old cameras are the new film craze happened. End of the day they're all just tools if you like it pat yourself on the back money comes and goes but the memories are priceless. Still with all that said I feel like the true sleepers that probably will go up sooner or later in the Fuji line up are the X70 and X10 which are true pocket cameras that everyone kinda ignores.

One thing I learned about shaky footage taken from the x100v, is that you can use it to your advantage by trying to emulate a super 8 film look. 😀Great video/photos friend! here's a custom film simulation recipe for you! Great video, I was also wondering what that sudden hype was, I love the design of the X100V but I really can't sacrifice the variety of lenses available out there so the closest thing was the Xpro 3 and I don't regret it getting it one bit, it has everything I need in a camera (except a good handle for big hands, but that can be arranged with little gadgets such as thumb rests and a handle extension) and it really inspires me to work with the camera, I come from a nikon dslr where every setting is adjusted with a combination of buttons, which is fine, but the feeling of having the freedom to turn every knob and instantly see what your shutter speed or iso is is such a liberating feeling, only con of that camera is the classic mirrorless issue of having kinda atrocious battery life, where I needed to take 1500 shots to empty my nikon's battery here it only lasts 400 or so, but hey that's a price I'm willing to pay

What the Fuji X100v demonstrates is how to do marketing with in an environment now dominated by social media. Seed your product with influencers. Buy them off - from direct money to pay off more subtle. Watch the demand for whatever your pushing skyrocket. The return on advertising dollar is huge; it's certainly much cheaper than paying for a 30 second Superbowl spot. The Fuji is an okay camera. It already wasn't that great when introduced; it's a poor value now. Read the initial reviews. It's plastiky. It's retro-poseur. It's camera hipster skinny jeans. etc. etc. Fundamentally, what's changed over the past three years? On its merits, the Fuji should be a $700 camera on the used market. For $1600 and for that same "I'm a real, serious photography artist now feeling" dig around and do better. The Leica SL Typ 601 gets you further with that crowd. A Nikon D850 would get you street cred with the harried pool photogs at the bar. Heck, sling a Pentax 645D if you really want to be noticed for those in the know.
@HunterLikesCameras
@HunterLikesCameras Жыл бұрын
I can totally see how that could be what has happened here. I am just a big fan of the size, and I do like Fuji’s user interface a lot. But your right that it has become the hipster skinny jeans of cameras 😂
