It's interesting to see the resurgence of using tallow in skincare. Rendering your own tallow, like any fat, definitely affects its final properties - the heating process can create different fatty acid profiles. I've found that rendering at a low temperature for a longer time results in a much smoother, less grainy product. I wonder if the TikTok users are considering these nuances in their processes?

i did notice that after eating a steak the fat will moisturize my lips better than lip balm.

I use coconut oil. However, don't think for one second that there aren't fats in your moisturizers you buy from the store.
