For anyone wondering, R2-KT was created as a tribute to a seven year old Star Wars fan named Katie Johnson. In 2004, she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and as her condition worsened she wished to have her own droid that would watch out for her the way R2 watched over Padme in AOTC. A group of fans part of the R2 Builder's Club heard abt her story and created R2-KT to do exactly that, and according to her father, KT stayed by her side until she passed. R2-KT nowadays appears at Star Wars events and fundraisers to help raise awareness for childhood illnesses, and was canonized as an official SW character in the 2008 Clone Wars movie (and later made a cameo in TFA)

Gasgano did seem to get a fair bit of promotion compared to other racers during the film's release. His Pod recieved a Lego kit, and he was also avaliable at the very start of the videogame.

Have you seen what happens if player 2 wins the podrace? Because player 2 has to play as gas gano, if player 2 wins there’s a cutscene where jar jar falls onto the track causing gas Gano to swerve into the wall on the last corner and thus Anakin wins

I liked that the Episode I Racer track you are playing is “Abyss” which was the hardest track to play but winning wasn’t necessary because it was an “invitational podracing circuit” that could be unlocked but did not unlock any other tracks. If you wanted Bozzie Baranta’s podracer, you had to win, but his pod had poor handling, so I never race as him after unlocking it. Ebe Endocott is probably the best all-rounder and is the best one to start the game with.

I grew up playing the Star Wars Racer game on the PS2, the sequel to the one on the N64, and I unironically have all the racers in that game memorized still. Boot it up on PS4/5 every now and then for the nostalgia, easily one of my favorite racing games ever

The Pod race was a highlight of my childhood. I played Episode I Racer and I have the Mos Espa Podrace Lego set. There is a Gasgano “minifig” with just a head, helmet, 4 grey battledroid arms and a brick vaguely resembling a torso that connected the head to 4 arms but no legs. He was only held into his podracer by his arms.

@@JRennick27 Well dude, this game is about the Skywalkers and Rex is a huge part of that. Also, Ahsoka is playable and they have 2 different Mando DLC packs, a Solo and Bad Batch DLC. So it's clearly not just the films. They could have had a Clone Wars DLC, they just didn't want it. Also, Rex has been officially retconed to be in the original series. And it's fanon that he was the clone who fell with Padme in AotC. But that isn't officially confirmed. It is still canon he was their during the attack.

Good thing I started replaying Episode I: Racer on the PC a long while back, so to know him and other notable Podracers a lot. Still waiting for Episode I: Battle for Naboo, Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, Pandemic Studios' The Clone Wars, and maybe even Racer Revenge and Jedi Starfighter though. How am I supposed to learn more Legends lore if some of the games aren't available these days on modern consoles and the PC?

To the people wondering why there’s so many of these lesser known characters and not clone wars characters, the answer is simple: it’s literally called the Skywalker Saga. The main game is based around the films, so of course Gasgano would be in it and not Cad Bane or Rex. Maybe in the future we will get Clone Wars dlc but until then that’s why.

When you are travelling through space, random events can happen. Some of them are the attack of a capital ship, if you defeat it, it is yours. At least this is how i heard it works

Wait, Gasgano is playable but Captain Rex isn't? I mean, put this into perspective for a moment. They could have given us Fives, Wolffe, Greggor, Waxer or Boil, but out of ALLL the clones we COULD have, they gave us Gree? At least we get Commander Cody but still.

Well. Rex technically does not appear in the Skywalker Saga, whereas Gasgano is one of the racers in a pretty important sequence in Episode One. Gree does appear quite a bit in Episode Three. He is the one who attempts to assassinate Yoda on Kashyyk after all. These choices make sense. That being said, out of examples you posted from the Clone Wars, Rex is who would make the most sense adding.

@@KajiVocals Actually, Rex has been officially retconed into the original series. He's the rebel fighter who changes into clone armor during the battle of Endor. So he is technically in the saga. Plus it is also canon he was in the battle of Genosis. It is fanon that the clone who fell with Padme during AotC, was Rex. And if Gree counts, then so should Rex. Also, Mando has 2 DLC's, BB get's a DLC and so does Solo. So it's not just about the films.

So yeah, as crazy as that sounds but I rather have Gasgano than Rex in the main game. But of course I wouldn't complain if they add him and the others as DLC characters later.
