You missed the part where U.S. corporations take advantage of this system to hire immigrants to pay them much less than what an American would make. Companies do so by posting their jobs offers on obscure websites in order to have no applicants. They also post highly skilled jobs with outrageously low wages, the typical “master’s degree required” post offering $15/hr. I can speak to that because the biggest insurer in the U.S., where my husband works, just hired a girl from India with a master’s in IT and are just paying her $20+/hr. My husband is earning the same in the same department, except his work only requires a HS diploma.

I work in the semiconductor industry. The problem we're having with finding workers is that every time there's mass layoffs, the majority of those who were layed off don't return to the industry. These layoffs happen usually every 5 years, discouraging people from sticking around long term. I was the only one in my department that returned after last year's layoffs ( that started almost exactly 3 weeks after the CHIPS act was passed). So the talent already exists domestically, but the industry is so unstable that less and less people want these jobs.

I worked in IT in the US right before the Trump term started back in 2016. After a bit less than 2 years, I was left with only 2 good opinions about the US: Nature and Salaries (for tech anyway). I left in 2018 for a country with a better quality of life that did not seem to hate me just for existing. The salary is nowhere near the same of course, but life is so enjoyable here that it is night and day by comparison. The US will be fine though, anyone going there goes for the money, so as long as those STEM salaries remain high it will be ok. For anyone that cares about other things though, I see very little going for it. I hope to never set foot there again.

So for example you might one year allow a thousand Russians a thousand Japanese a thousand Brazilians a thousand Vietnamese and so forth. Now it's set up so if you have family ties to the country you jump to the front of the line. So whatever is already present for ethnicities and cultures will just increase while others get passed over. For example if you have ten thousand Mexicans with family ties to people currently in the US and ten thousand Japanese without family ties to anyone here then none of the Japanese and all of the Mexicans will be granted admission. Terrible take. Biden removed the remain in Mexico policy which forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico than have years in America and giving birth to children that will be US Citizens. Making people remain in Mexico cuts down on frivolous asylum claims since they won't be rewarded with a years stay in the US and benefits as their mostly frivolous cases churn around in an overburdened US immigration judicial system. Plus that makes denials less complicated as there are less likely children that were born in US soil in the mean time. Biden terminating Remain in Mexico was a disastrous policy and signaled to people all around the world that the US is "open" to more easily take people in.

What good info? VisualEconomik was just lying. This channel has started to sound like WEF shill. What they were talking about 50 thousands yearly visa is the visa lottery. US government organizes visa lottery for the last few decades, and that lottery does not have anything to do with H-1B visa. There is no limitation on how many H-1B visa each year. There is limitation in how many visa lottery winner each year. The visa lottery is a leftist agenda to "diversify" US population, and it stated in the rule of the lottery, that is, your chance to win the lottery depends on how many people applying from your country and how many immigrants your country sent to the US in the past years, either lottery or H-1B. It does not have expertise requirements, except that you have K-12 education. That's it, no unique skill, no world known expertise, none but K-12 education. If you have expertise, especially if you are a world known one, just apply H-1B right away. You are not peasants. Don't bother with visa lottery.

12:13 no. The US isn't really having an economic boom either. What has happened is a mix a few factors. 1. There's been several deep economic, climate, & political crisises that have been happening in mainly Latin America that has caused mass movement of people north (look at Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, Central America, Southern Mexico, Ecuador etc.). 2. Several people who have been flocking to the border were held up due to the pandemic so many feel they have a chance now especially with Biden in power. 3. Most people have been taking advantage of a broken asylum system of the country & sanctuary status of a couple cities in the country (why NYC & Chicago have been swamped with illegal migrants). 4. Social media has made information about how to more easily get into the US has spread like wildfire. 5. Smugglers & fraudulent travel agencies have been taking advantage of desperate people.

This framing over US workers leveraging employment practices as direct action against immigrants is insane... And then to suggest that companies are victims in this process... This is wild. This issue is the government not eliminating grey areas, it is widely known that immigrants will be crucial to our population growth and sustained productivity, and also the inevitability of their presence at this point. Nearly 50 years of this situation developing. And again, you're framing this as the entire working population ... using direct action against immigrants like what the hell

It was first introduced as NIRU (non-inflationary rate of unemployment) by Franco Modigliani and Lucas Papademos in 1975, as an improvement over the "natural rate of unemployment" concept, which was proposed earlier by Milton Friedman. In the United States, estimates of NAIRU typically range between 5 and 6%. Monetary policy conducted under the assumption of a NAIRU, typically involves allowing just enough unemployment in the economy to prevent inflation rising above a given target figure. Prices are allowed to increase gradually and some unemployment is tolerated.” Source: Wikipedia page on NAIRU But let’s pretend the unemployed are lazy people who don’t want to work.

Don’t forget the loophole in the immigration system…marry an American, get a green card. Doesn’t matter how skilled you are at anything outside the bedroom. Of course this process is also incredibly convoluted, but that’s how a lot of immigrants can play the system. Depending on the state, you could also just marry for about a year, and then go your separate ways with a green card.

The argument in this video completely misses the fact that immigrants primarily end up in districts that elect Democrats to Congress. Because district boundaries are determined by total population including non-citizend, not just citizens, this crisis works out to 22 seats held by Democrats that would otherwise be held by Republicans. So, no matter how much you try to make an economic argument, by far the main driver of Biden's reversal of the Remain-in-Mexico policy is political. Also, notice the bias in the opening argument: COVID may be part of the picture, but the fact that Latin America is riddled with far-left despots and drug cartels is a pretty undeniable part of why people are leavinh for America.

The additional border agents would be used to speed up the processing of illegal migrants into the country, Biden used executive orders to open the border, he can reverse those anytime he wants. No new legislation is needed. He found billions of dollars to violate a SCOTUS ruling on paying off student debt, but somehow can't find money to secure the border, This isn't about the orange man, it's about the drooling barely standing President and whoever's actually running the show at the White House.
