Hello. Iranian from inside Iran here( internets back up on a limited scale) . I feel the need to mention something. In regards to people fed up with the sanctions and their effects on the commoner, I ve seen two major mindsets so far. One with people seeing the west as the ultimate tyrant, aiming to spread distrust between people and their "caring " government only to cause the downfall of the regime by turning the people on their " protectors " holding every action committed by the regime so far to be justifiable one way or another. The other mindset sees the sanctions as rational and expected reactions of a foreign world our leaders and politicians have been purposefully aggrevating, so they can feed off the reactions by portraying them as unprovoked warmongers ( as all oppressive systems need an obligatory sworn enemy, most may resort to creating one. And given the history, theres none better than the us. ) the second group believes if it werent for the radical views of the regime along with the belief they were god's destined few to lead the world to the truth( actual propaganda) we wouldnt have casted our selves out from the world. So the regime needs to change. Recent protests in iran are being held by the second group, with the regime supporting the heavily outnumbered first group. The clips you see on iranian national TV( FULLY regime controlled) are of the first group. The recent protests( captured on phones mostly) show the second group. Theres a lot more detail I can get into but this comments already pretty long.

Evidence shows that invading a country and then giving it back "to the people" fails most of the time. The true change happens when the citizens rise up and overthrow tyranny. Resentment is the result of the former. If US wants to truly "stabilize" a nation they must conquer and keep that nation, which the people of the US do not want. On the other hand there were some quite large mistakes for example, the shah was not installed by America after the fall of Mossadegh. He was already king. As you mentioned Mossadegh was appointed. The whole mess that was that period of political upheaval is a black mark against the US and our international relations in the Persian Gulf. I have zero sympathy for what we did to Iran, and the aftermath we wrought from all the garbage we did there. That said, I would prefer that Trump didn't sabotage the efforts to limit more potential nuke armed countries existing. I think the US will be cleaning up the mess that Trump caused for decades to come. >_< Hopefully Iran will get good terms from a more rational US leadership with a new deal to prevent them generating and distributing nukes to those we are at odds with.

14:45 the $1.7B sent to lran actually belonged to lran. Shortly before the Revolution lran paid the US $.5B for arms that were never delivered due to the Revolution and which remained in US banks gaining interest while the refund was being arbitrated. Iran appeared to be winning the matter and in position to receive a settlement several times higher than $1.7B but they settled for that figure. So it wasn't US taxpayers' $ that was sent to lran it was lran's.

You've missed a huge and very important chapter of Iranian involvement in the French nuclear program, which meant giving Iran its own nuclear plants as well as uranium rods for them, yet it was cancelled... after Iran already paid the full amount for its side of the deal (to build the French railroad in Gabon). So yeah, Iran was used left right and centre by the West.

2 important problems with your video : 1. Mosadeq was elected by parliamentary elections and not appointed, so saying he was democratically elected is accurate and correct. 2. Mosadeq's offer was 50-50 sharing of profits with the british which the british rejected and not 100 percent of profits for Iran, nationalization of oil was after the british rejected the 50-50 offer.

It is technically true that he was appointed by the Shah, however, the Shah made the appointment after the Parliament had already nominated Mossadegh in an overwhelming majority. Given that in a parliamentary government, the Prime Minister is typically just the leader of the party with the most seats, appointing the person with the support of the majority of Parliament as PM is a lot closer to being democratically elected than the way the video presented it as him just being a popular politician who was appointed. Mossadegh was arguably a more legitimate Prime Minister than Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak, who were both put in power by the internal machinations of a political party opposed by the majority of the country's population.

As a Persian- American I can tell the information are almost accurate. There is some missing information about the Iran-Iraq war and the role of the US in that war in particular regarding chemical weapons that we provided to Saddam Hossein. I had to take a homemade gas mask to school together with my lunch bag when I was only 7 years old. Just think about it! Unbelievable! We take things for granted in the US. That Mossadegh rejected the 50-50 deal offered by Truman speaks volumes about Iranian greed when it was not they that built the facilities and the pipelines. Mossadegh is were USA got involved. Previous to the war, Iran was in the UK sphere of influence, sometimes contested by the Russians. The Anglo-Persian Oil Company (BP) was the first blueprint how Western companies could exploit the oilfields and siphon off the profits while keeping the countries of origin underdeveloped under a super rich ruling class.

Mossadegh wasn't simply "appointed". He was nominated by a (MASSIVE) majority the Parliament and then appointed by the Shah. That's basically how the process works in the UK as well.

The one correction I would make is that Mossadegh wanted to get a 50-50 deal similar to what the Saudi's had in Saudi Arabia, that was originally rejected by the British as they wanted regime change, they were concerned that Mossadegh would be too cozy to the Soviets following the issues ongoing. Thanks for bringing attention to this, especially important with the ongoing protests to oust the Mullahs.

But US or the coup did not make Shahanshah the king . He was the eldest son of Reza shah and the lawful right king after his dad. Shahanshah became the king right after WW2 which is way before all of these happening so clearly Shahanshah did not need US to put him in power You also said Shahanshah was just a poppet for west…. My dear friend this is exactly what Khomeini and his supporters made up to criticise the shah. For example they’d say we don’t need F14 fighter jets , bell cobra helicopters or chiften tanks but US and UK order shah to buy them so they can fix shortcomings on their annual budgets and shah has no option but to obey his American and English bosses orders, just like French and Germany order him to buy atomic energy technology from them otherwise we have sea of oil why would we need atomic energy!? I should clarify a few things about Iran, especially some surprising facts in 4, 5 and 6: 1. A British millionaire (I can't recall the name) funded the oil exploration that led to the discovery of oil in Iran. For some reason, the Iranian leader at the time signed a lopsided deal (yes, let's call it what it was -- lopsided) that allowed the millionaire to keep most of the profits. (Many African, Asian, and Southern American nations signed similar lopsided deals with British, American, and French, politicians and businessmen, so the lopsidedness was probably the result of the influence of the foreign governments and not that the leader of Iran at the time was dumb.) Iran got next to nothing from the oil sales. In fact, after deducting "expenses", the millionaire paid taxes to the British government before sharing whatever was left with Iran, which was always next to nothing. The British government later bought out the company from the millionaire, which did make the situation any better for Iran since they now had to deal with the powerful British government. Nevertheless, Iran was still dirt poor while its wealth was taken away. That was going to lead to problems down the line. 2. The oil company the British founded exists today as British Petroleum (aka BP). 3. Saying Mossadeeq was not elected but appointed is like saying the British PM was not elected but appointed. Iranians voted for Mossadeeq to represent them in parliament and the members of parliament voted for him to become PM. That's how it's done in many "democratic" nations including Britain and Canada. Mossadeeq was a democratic leader until the British and Americans overthrew him for daring to nationalize the "British" oil company and reinstalled the monarchy led by the Shah in power. The Shah, just like Saudi is doing day, gave the British and Americans useful and valuable oil in exchange for… wait for it, weapons. Iran bought loads of weapons from the US but that was where their "success" ended. Like today's Saudi, oil wealth made it lazy and its' population had nothing much going on for them. They were rich but they had no skills. It was just the oil money. They lived in a facade "wealthy" economy, propped up by oil. They didn’t own the oil facilities, machines, or anything. They only collected rents from drilled oil. That isn't wealth. Iranians soon got fed up with the British and Americans running their economy and a revolution broke out, causing the Shah to flee. 4. While everyone thinks the revolutionists were united, they were actually three groups fighting for control: - The communists, who wanted a Soviet-style military dictatorship, - The nationalists who wanted Iran's return to democracy, - And the religionists, who wanted an Islamic nation. The communists were the largest of the three groups and were on their way to taking control of the government when the nationalists and religionists agreed to unite and share power, leading to the democracy-religionist government we have today. The religionists appointed an Ayatollah that ruled the country but the people also elected a president. 5. Today, Iran has two armies, two navies, and two air forces. One is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (with its own navy and air force) to defend the nation's religion, while the other is the Iranian army, navy, and air force, which acts as the regular military. The IRGC is more powerful and is more talked about. Many even think they are the army. They are not. 6. This one will surprise you but what if I told you the current Ayatollah, Ali Khamenei (who is currently a religionist) was actually a nationalist? He was the president of Iran until the first Ayatollah suddenly died in 1989. The religionists didn't have a replacement and started sourcing for someone the citizens won't refuse. So they turned to the same nationalist president the citizens elected through the ballot and appointed him as Ayatollah. Problem solved. That said, unlike what most people think, Iran is not an Islamic country per se. It's liberal. The religionists are the ones trying to enforce religious rules on the people and not the people rebelling against existing religious rules.

The state deals with most of countries issue from Monday until Saturday where the churches "own" the country on Sunday plus obligatory Christian classes in public schools, and dont forget the religion tax. Plus the existance of Christian parties. In nutshell, there is no big diff between Iran and western countries. One cannot avoid religions and state unless you are in communist countries. So if one wants to get rid of the Mullah, they have to implement communism in Iran.

As an Iranian, I can corroborate your story as to what happened that led to this situation between the USA and Iran. But in order to overthrow the government we need help from the rest of the world; this government is relentless, and Mahsa Amini was not the only victim of this regime. And in order to keep their dictator leader, Khamenei, in power, they have no limits. During these protests they murdered a 10-year-old boy by the name of Kian Pir Falak. Recently they have started executing the protestors they have seized in a most brutal way. They rape the Iranian women in prisons just because they don't want to wear hijab. We cannot fight them single-handedly. As you can see from all over the world, Iranian people are protesting against this regime, but we need your help.

This is one of your finest plus most informative reports! All this still begs the question: Why are we all so seemingly addicted to oil and only oil as our energy source?? Why has no country mastered efficient and affordable renewable sources be it solar, wind, geothermal, wave or all of these?? This would stop global warming and return all these bad guy countries back to their economies before all these ridiculous oil profits!!

The simple answer is because those with the money want it that way. Oil companies are making record profits and that money goes into the pockets of people who are invested in keeping it that way. Billionaires who want to keep the money flowing into their pockets spend a pittance to buy politicians towards that goal. That's why fossil fuel subsidies world wide exceeded $300 billion last year alone. Since oil companies are global spanning they get to dip into that heavily. Renewable subsidies are catching up but frankly I feel that we should be cutting subsidies in general. When companies are making record profits by gouging consumers maybe it's time to stop throwing even more money at them just for existing..

Light years away from replacing oil with renewable energy.. It's going to remain that way as long as governments keep pumping money into renewable energy.. Not much reason for advancement in R&D when there is a steady flow of government money.. Take wind energy for example. Each of the wind turbines standing in the US are basically a big net loss. Not one of them will create enough energy to pay for themselves, but the companies made billions thanks to government money.. ZERO point in dumping money into a product to improve it when you are making billions. Get government out of it and you will start to see improvement if it's actually viable.. Is it really global warming? I remember when they first started pushing their BS they called it global warming, we are all going to fry.. Then it was global cooling and we are all going to freeze to death. Eventually they started preaching climate change because they couldn't keep up with the climate that has changed throughout history.. I have a little hint for you. When they have to doctor results to fit their narrative, do everything they can to discredit anyone that challenges it and even call for it to be illegal and anyone that dares challenges it should be jailed it's likely a bunch of BS...
