Your video was suggested to me. Not sure why exactly, maybe because it involves relationship stuff. I had my religious phase during college probably at one of the most liberal arts colleges in the country. And I’m glad I had it. Because I was able to decide religion wasn’t for me. Whether or not there is a god, I made the decision not to live my life trying to convince myself of something I didn’t fully believe. And I didn’t believe because you can never fully know. I guess that’s why it’s called faith. Part of what deterred me was the phoniness of people at church, in my own fellowship, and even people I hear today who say there is a god with 100 percent certainty like saying that there might not be is a sin. I think people should really own the faith part instead of acting like they have proof. Anyways, I totally like that people have a belief system which helps them deal with life. I agree with what you said about taking accountability for how your life is. That is a tough pill to swallow, because a lot of us aren’t dealt the same cards in life. There are a lot of privileges that people have which don’t get talked about. Having a good support structure and family, as well as physical appearance. These are all things that make life easier for certain people. So there’s a fine line. I like to call out the uneven playing field but then also take responsibility for my own negative thinking. Taking ownership really does feel empowering because you realize you are not resigned to the patterns you’ve exhibited for so long.
