Prostitution should be made completely legal. Before you badmouth me, hear me out. According to a report by Amnesty international, 95% of these sex workers can't approach police or law authorities because they think that they have done something illegal. Perpetuators commit heinous crimes against them because even they know that these women can't approach police because prostitution per say is illegal. This issue was first raised in Germany where prostitution is a huge problem. Most prostitutes over there begged the Government to legalize it so they can seek help if something bad happens to them without the fear of going to jail. But then again in a country like India it may have some controversial results because even if prostitution is legalized, the lack of literacy will do it's job and most women won't even know about it. It is evident from the fact that how most of the people are afraid when police arrests them for no reason as they are not aware of their rights. DISCLAIMER: My intention is not to hurt anyone's feelings. All the facts I mentioned are well documented on the Government websites and news channels. Let's keep the debate civilized if possible.

But what's the guarantee that that even after legalizing it ...the police will help the trafficked victims because the whole racket is backed by powerful politicians. Because if trafficking will stop them there will be huge gap between the demand and supply so to meet the supply these things will surely continue. Legalizing it will worsen the situation.
