For me, I want to believe that the reason why Portland is always mention to us about Indie is because of Indie's history. Other than Indie's "greatest single loss of life at sea from a single ship". Indie was somewhat forgotten when it happened despite that she delivered the important components of the Atomic Bomb that ended the World War II. In the history after Indie got sunk by single submarine, nobody knows on what happened to the ship. It took the USA 4 days and 5 nights to realize on what happened to her. Portland is actually reminding us that we should never ignore his sister and should be protected at all cost thus the reference of her demise.

No one initially looked for Indianapolis because of her "Pandora's Box" cargo, which was Top Secret, and therefore she made her voyage in radio silence, as ordered. Being spotted and torpedoed by the I-boat was unfortunate timing, and all the survivors could do was hope that someone would remember a CA was behind schedule and search for them. Which was done, but after nearly a week in the open ocean there were few survivors to rescue. My personal opinion is that the fate of Juneau's crew was the more tragic, since the sinking and report of survivors in the water was reported THREE times by a B-17, PBY flying boat, and the captain of Helena respectively, but nothing was done to seriously search for survivors for over 3 days, and IIRC it was nearly 7 days before the survivors were found and rescued by a destroyer. Which is partially why Helena is sad at first, and why Juneau-chan is haunted by the ghosts of five brothers....

Portland carried my fleet, and still does, till Ch 13-4. In this very moment I'm finishing the runs in 13-4 with Portland as the tank in the boss fleet, and she's Perfect. I really hope she get's an Oath skin, she's one of my favorites, and I'm glad she's so strong in game. As for Nagato, if I remember correctly, there's also another reason for her being a loli, though I don't remember correctly so this is something that should be verified. The other reason is because she was made partially with the Japanese population donations, which where gathered at schools, and the children where the ones that delivered the donations to the govern, so Nagato is also seen as a "children of the nation" or something like that. Some months ago I saw this debate and argument in one of AL related pages on facebook that I follow, but at the time I didn't had the time to verify the information, so I recommend checking because this might also be another reason. And as comparison with QE, Nagato is indeed much smaller then more modern BBs just like QE class, but, differently then QE class which they are adults after all, Nagato and Mutsu are children. I know the lutzow one. Irl Deutschland was renamed lutzow for 2 reasons. The first was that it would have been a loss of face for a ship named after the country to be sunk (see the frigate USS United States on the Barbary wars). Second it was to cover the fact that the real ship was sold to the USSR as part of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact

I disagree on the reasoning for Nagato being a loli. There are plenty of battleships that are similar in size, or even smaller than Nagato, but are not lolis. Mikasa, Fuso, and all the American standard type battleships come to mind.

Yamato had a wide beam and main gun turrets that had the weight of a destroyer each. Yeah, she and Musashi are gonna be a brick house each. And I hope & pray they use dishwasher1910's character art for them.

Nice video, didn't know about Portland, though you seem to have a misconception on what a Super-Dreadnought is. Super-Dreadnoughts are Dreadnoughts that are armed with guns that are larger than 12" Battlecruisers such as the Lions tend to be larger than their contemporary battleships such as the Orions due to their requirement for more engines. They also tend to cost a substantial amount more as well. Battlecruisers Focus on speed typically at the cost of Firepower and amour. While Battleships focus on Firepower and armour at the cost of speed. Fast Battleships balance speed, firepower and amour for a more even ship. Nagato's and Kongo's actual sizes are as follows, Nagato: L: 215.8 B: 29.02 D: 9.08 Displacement 32720 tons 1944 L: 224.94 B: 34.6 D: 9.49 Displacement 39130 tons Kongo: L: 214.58 B: 28.04 D: 8.22 Displacement 27384 tons Post-modernisation L: 219.61 B: 33.1 D: 9.7 Displacement 32156 tons

Although I can't speak from a history perspective, in Game tirpitz has a skill that buffs her fp if she's the lone BB In the main fleet, so if paired with fdg, she won't have that buff. Unless she's with Bismarck who buffs ib BBs more than her lone skill.

But Japanese sometimes say both numerals in a western-style number instead of saying it outright. For the classic mecha anime Megazone 23, the title is read as "Megazone Two-Three", not "Megazone Twenty-Three".

Subsequent to this, I learned that starting with #23, KMS destroyers no longer had official names. This had a precedent from WW I, when Grand Fleet and High Seas Fleet destroyers were only known by numbers. Nagato looks like a little girl because, in real life, she and Mutsu were built using donations from schools and orphanages so she's seen a sort of protector of the children. It is also the reason why the KanColle version of Nagato is basically Ark Royal on steroids.

Speaking of Nagato. I remember being on a discord server about AL. And someone had shared an art piece where it was a Nagato (retrofit) idea, and she looked like a normal BB girl. Not a loli BB. And then we agreed that she should of looked like that in the first place.
