Actually, we were given an answer to this already: There's an episode where Timmy goes back in time to discover why Mr.Crocker is the horrible teacher he is in his time, and eventually discovers he IS the reason. I think that's a sense of irony. Anyway, early in the episode, we see a babysitter similar to Vicky named Vic act the exact same as her to little Denzel, as that's the crazy teacher's first name. I think his name is short for Victor, like how Vicky is usually short for Victoria. Anyway, I think this guy is her grandfather, as Mr.Crocker says he's 53 during the series. Basically, Vicky's behavior is a combination of a lot of traumatizing things from when she was young and a genetic inheritance.

Honestly makes me wish they had her redeemed in the end of the series. Maybe involving a WORSE babysitter trying to take her jobs and SUCCEEDING. Leading to her helping Timmy when his parents take the new girl's offer. Then possibly reveal the REAL reason Vicky didn't like her, was because of some repressed memories she had that get unlocked while helping timmy. Those memories being of HER bad babysitter. Not Timmy from that wish earlier on in the series, but another one. Though how would this cause Timmy to keep his fairies you may ask? Well reveal the big secret of the new babysitter, in that either she was that one evil fairy hunting teacher in disguise that woman one. OR another fairy hunter who Fairy World deem a massive threat, that by taking her down... Timmy gets a rule free wish to allow him to keep his fairies until he reaches a certain age instead of being based on happiness too. *So he can have a good babysitter, without losing his fairies*

I’ll try to be fair to Vicky and not go overboard but a tear-filled confession (which may or may not be sincere) and apologizing(once again maybe or maybe not sincere) isn’t enough to redeem for seasons of child abuse and other evil actions. Now I’ll give Vicky credit for going all the way, attempting to sacrifice herself to save Timmy because that’s something that I never believed I would see from her. I was moved by that until she reverted back to the status quo. So even if I was looking at all of Vicky’s actions through the series I’d say that it might be one of Vicky’s better moments. Complete redemption? No but at least worth acknowledging.

My one thought is that the reason we don't talk about this episode so much is just because Vicky was probably just acting out on being sad and nice to Timmy because she was so cold in that cave, people can act out differently like they haven't before and say random but either true or strange things if they are stuck somewhere outside that is just too hot or to cold
@ChrissaTodd28 күн бұрын

@@ChrissaTodd I was saying that she was acting out differently in colder weather like everyone else dose, by just saying that a regular person with not her kind of personality would just act out in a more angry way wanting to get out of the cave because of hotter or colder weather and with her she just snaps thinking about how she acted and started being nice so you don't really know if she was saying just random stuff or not because she probably forgot some of it because of all that anger...

This episode is likely remembered, but probably ignored by everyone, including the show runners at the time because they thought it was easier to have a despicable person rather than an interesting person. It’s not like Timmy had any shortage of people making his life miserable. With neglectful parents Accrual faculty system in the school board Extensive bullying Likely some psychological issues Vicky and her torment is just adding fuel to the flame But imagine if she didn’t. Imagine if she was actually a decent person not as saint by any means but decent instead of cruel and abusive.

I feel that this is indicative of a lot of modern "redemptions". There is kind of a whole theory of morality that there arent bad people and no matter what, the true "wrong" is to not trust and accept and try your hardest to redeem people no matter what. I think its misguided and the best arguments against it are limited to "Maybe, but you cant be responsible for others. Sure, try if you can but its fine and moral to abandon people."

Honestly I think that a lot of people deserve a second chance to better themselves, I won’t argue that there’s some people that don’t because of stuff but some people do because of a messed up past or something similar happened and they don’t really know any other way to act. Now when it comes to vicky a part of me remembers this episode and can’t help but think what if. What if instead of going back to her old ways she took a look at herself and everything Timmy did and has done,now Timmy isn’t perfect but he’s a pretty good person and has helped out Vicky and all the other villains a few times. There are other episodes that show Vickey, in the right circumstances can be kind, nice and not evil. It's just that she never really had the best childhood. Like when Timmy turns her 5 years old, even though Timmy makes her miserable, we can see she was already in some form miserable. I guess as she got older that misery turned into rage and she took it out on everyone other than those cute, handsome, rich or famous in which she would try to use them for her gain. Honestly it seems weird considering her parents seem like the type to not wanna hurt Vickey, but I guess that one lie became the turn point. Sort of wonder if Vickey had fairly god parent(s) and what might have been the cause they disappeared.

Because it wasn’t a redemption. She immediately fell back on old habits as soon as the situation changed. A redemption has to be permanent to be considered valid. Look at DBZ for example. The reason Vegeta’s redemption was one of the best in fiction was because when he finally let go of his pride, he became a family man. He took trunks to the park like a normal father, he spent valuable time with his family, He didn’t want to fight in the Tournament of power because he would miss the birth of his daughter. That’s redemption. Vegeta permanently changed and didn’t go back, ever.
