Wow what a lot of tarps and tents! I hope MLD see this and send some freebie’s! Great video. Hadn’t realised just how large your collection was.

Ron has been very good. After I damaged my trailstar he replaced with the poly version and the other shelters I asked for and he was very kind to send. Cricket SolomidXL and Monk dcf probably couple other bits can't remember now as got so much I got lost with it all lol I just never sell so it mounts up over the years lol 😆 many thanks 😊

Lassie made her preference clear. Great series of videos. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making it. I’ve just bought my first flat tarp, a Wolf tarp, from Wild Sky Gear. It’s fun to play with different pitches but, for usefulness at the end of a day’s walking, shaped tarps seem quicker to pitch well and need fewer long guylines. I bought a Duomid after breaking a trekking pole and wondering how I would have coped if I’d been relying on the Trailstar. I prefer the environment inside the Duomid but wish the back wasn’t just one big panel because it bows in when the wind blows strongly from behind. The Trailstar is definitely better when the wind gets up.

As with all these tents tarps there is occasional sacrifice here n there. Care needed with poles. That wolf kit looks good kit enjoy. Yes duomid nice for height but ts rules for ground space in a way and flexibility but loses on height but that can be it's bonus too ... thanks for great comment

Tony what about rainwater creeping under the tent and getting your stuff wet,,,,how do you cope with that.

Unless the ground floods (it has) then no issue use a groundsheet fitted to size ie single double or trailstar shape etc . For the most part that covers flooding too. Rare. Move in extreme cases. I've had extreme cases. I just stay put lol every camp I've done bar maybe two long ago is on here.

Mine would have to be the Duomid with the option of a single mesh inner. Like having the choice of full enclosure, one door open or both doors open.

How finnicky is the Trailstar to pitch?
@TonyHobbs6 ай бұрын
It takes practice and patience but easy once done a few times. Poly or nylon is best options. I've loads of vids on pitching it.

I use duomid xl for everything for 5 years already. Couldnt' be happier.

I just bought a pyraomm duo which is pretty similar to duomid. Any tips you've learned on pitching or things to make using it easier?
