I'm a PC gamer and have not had a console since the PS1. I have been thinking of getting a console in addition to my PC, and actually the PS4 still seems like a viable option because I could find one dirt cheap and it has lots of games to play

Its because these companies are afraid to take chances and not try something new and were tired of the live service games and battle passes and incomplete broken games also dlc

PS5 and Xbox Series X are really non-unique. You said it well, nothing new, nothing original. In terms of hardware and user experience these machines are offering nothing over PS4 and Xbox One other than higher framerates. Exclusives are few in number. Paying for online makes no sense. To compound all of that, the controllers are perfectly compatible with PC, which comes very close to the ease of use on consoles nowadays, mainly thanks to Steam. The value proposition of consoles is almost extinct.

Ps3 : Make a 100 new games, Remaster 50 next gen. Ps4: Make 50 new Games, remaster 25 next gen, ps5: Make 25 new games, remaster 12 games next gen. 😅 The remasters trend is nice but they can not keep it forever!

The PS5 pro is way too expensive everyone has to admit that but this is going to be a big problem with the PS6, not only is it going to be even more expensive it probably won't have a Disc Drive either so it's probably going to be around 1000 dollars/euros. At this point just buy a PC or Steam deck or rog ally or any other PC handheld

With the recent games (GOW: Ragnarok & Spider-Man 2) going to PC, there's absolutely no reason to own a PS5 (or an Xbox for that matter). At least the Xbox is backwards compatible, which is nice, but PC emulation is where it's at when it comes to playing older titles. Moral of the story? Get a PC, it has games old and new and more exclusives than any other console platform.

I still say it's too early technically hasn't advanced much since the Ps4 and Xbox One Sony literally confirmed a good portion of its games can run well on ps4 and the same can be said for xbox just remove ray tracing make a few minor changes and boom its basically the same they released jedi surviver on the ps4 when all this talk about "we only have it looking this way because of NeXt GeN TeChNoLoGy."
