My goodness, I can't believe The Act Man himself is covering yet another one of my favorite childhood games of all time right after the Classic Battlefront games and Republic Commando. This game was one of my all time favorites growing up as kid. I remember replaying the missions all the time when I was a kid in early elementary school on my PS2. Much thanks to The Act Man for covering this phenomenal masterpiece!

God, when this came out, it solidified my love for Star Wars action games in general. I remember playing this before seeing the movie, so I already versed in the story before I went to see the film. I also remember the story mode being pretty hard, especially in levels where Order 66 was in its beginning phases.

It was awesome because it was developed by The Collective! During that 6th console generation, they were on fire. One of the best developers around, by far. From the criminally underrated Xbox exclusive Buffy the Vampire Slayer game to Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, they were at the top of their game. I also liked (despite the absurdly long name) Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure as well. It's such a shame they aren't around anymore.

I used to play this with a friend when I was younger. I always chose Grievous, and he always chose Dart Vader. Though I was always disappointed that there isn't a co-op mission that has Grievous for Player 1 and a MagnaGuard for Player 2, since they are both playable in the bonus missions.

Blue Vader was probably a tip of the hat to Ralph Mcquarries star wars artwork that originally depicted him and even the stormtroopers with blue blades. Mace had a blue in some of the episode 1 tie in materials before Sam Jackson had even asked about purple. Grevious 2P is just NK Necrosis. All fun little nods.

@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Perhaps better than the vanilla game... but the Moviebattles II mod for Jedi Academy has the BEST lightsaber combat I have ever seen in any star wars game ever. With a ton of diffrent lightsaber combat styles and a combat system that I would put even above Mordhau in terms of its skill ceiling. (Note: Even though Mordhau isn´t really a star wars game. It´s melee combat can fit right into a star wars game with lightsaber combat and sutch. There´s even modded servers with lightsaber dueling.)

And to block without losing block points (basically a bar you need to maintain during a fight that allows you to block) you need to move your mouse into the direction the enemy´s blow is coming from.

This game is the best. Still play it very frequently. Absolutely amazing combat, UNDERRATED enemy designs... and the voicelines... A H H H, the voicelines. From the Clone Assassin's "It’s time for you to die now, shorty!" To Yoda, to "Who fights with a PURPLE Lightsaber anyway?"
