@@MDoorpsyWell, you don't actually need to beat Chronos to access the surface. Had I not had a busted build for a run that originally was to get resources in Tartarus to unlock a certain weapon aspect, I'd have beaten Prometheus before Chronos.

Considering war empowers him, it would make sense his boons also get a huge buff from it, and a war between gods should be the mother of all wars.

What if this is like that one myth where he got trapped in a jar? Just... stuck somewhere, out there. If that's the case, it was probably Chronos who took him, considering he's the god of war and all, no doubt he'd have slaughtered a bunch of Chronos' minions were he out and about.

Not to mention how much he talked about how he liked the Satyrs and all their blood rituals and such. Since all those rituals were to bring back Chronos it lends some credibility to the idea that he has betrayed Olympus what being a fan of both Grandpa time and the prospect of eternal warfare.

Going to leave this comment here, for when finally we get the either the full release of the game, or the last survace level: I'm 100% certain that Ares has "joined" the side of the Titans/Humans. In one of the myths telling about the end of Greek Mythos, the story went so that Ares and his children would revolt against Olympys, bringing the gods to the ground, and giving them the ultimatum; Leave the mortal realm and all their matters to themselfs from now on, on die by his hands. The gods chose to leave the mortal lands, and no longer mettle in their affairs. I just kinda feel that with all that we've seen and heard of what's going on with Kronos, the new "Golden Age" and such, Ares being gone, Prometheus who can foretell the future joining Kronos in this war, (and in me honest opinion, it'd just be repetive to have 2 titan boss fights back to back on the survace area) and it just being super epic, that Ares is the final boss of the survace run, cause after all, what'd be more epic than to fight the bloody god of war?

I'm really glad that you mention this. I didn't know the game mention about Ares not present in the war, even before the Olympus update. I guess I hadn't played enough to have trigger these conversations I'd like to share how I think the story will ended up being in the final are for Olympus. this is for most of the part will based of from other retelling of the Greek Myth that is already out there, so you can take this as a fan theory at best Ares is going to be the final boss in Olympus. He aligned himself with Chronos in a plot to overthrow Zeus as ruler of Olympus. He had somehow find a way to remained hidden from the other Gods, and secretly commanding the army in the surface to destroy Olympus I only have two references to based this theory of from: 1. The weaker one - shorts video that I came across around a year ago, telling the story of Ares rebellion against Zeus, and how Ares was defeated. Afterwards, Ares condemned Zeus for their meddlings with the humans, and demand Zeus to leave the human alone. from that video, it said that this war was the one the ended Greek Myth. 2. The entire plot of God of War 1 through 3. Ares rebelling against Zeus was the entire plot of God of War 1, before Kratos defeated him, and became the God of War. Thought it was Kratos who fought against Zeus in 2 & 3, by proxy it is still a God of War who fought against Olympus

I wonder where Ares is? He might not be peacful because..well, god of war and we dont have any keepsakes left. Ofc he could be the Boss on Olympus but for me Typhon is more likely (for all we know right now, ofc I could be wrong). The top of Olympus beeing full of fire, a giant storm around the peak, earthquakes while Melinöe climbs up the mountain, multiple Titans fighting for revenge and a new era, the reign of the Olympians at stake? That smells like Typhon. But honestly? That dosn't make it easier to find out where Ares might be..
