I dig into the loss of power on my xTool D1. I've contacted xTool via email and left messges after dialing their service phone number. I get no response from them.

Glad you're back I business! Based on bad customer service, would you recommend x-tool? I may order mine in a month or two. Thanks!

Would I buy again? Yup. Am I likely to get the 20W module? Yup. But, I new going in initially their support was lacking. I tried reaching out to them prior to my purchase and got no response. But the videos I watched on this laser and others convinced me to go ahead with my purchase. I hit the ground running when I unpacked the laser. I do believe I the reason for my failure was due to not cleaning the lens while cleaning the laser. I was working the laser extremely hard for long hours. But make no mistake, this is a hobbist laser. There are issues they have worked out. I've seen the newer models have limit switches. This is something I wish mine had. I've managed to find work arounds, but would love to have them. Is there a better laser out there? Probably. Is there a better laser at a better price point? Probably not.

@@HoboWithWood to be fair i had power issues- and after a bit of Chinglish they sent me a replacement quickly, i found the customer service emails pretty responsive (ie less then 24 hours reply) based on time difference etc not too bad, sorry to hear your issues, best buy i did so far! solid product - limit swithces would be nice tho

Were the rings highly reflective?? This looks like laser flash bask back reflecting back into the lens and over heating it. Were the rings coated with something anti-reflective (black paint or other non relfective products) should have prevented this.

I had some success with the silver ring. But the gold color ring was made out of Kryptonite or something. This is also when I discovered the first of 5 cracked lenses. I had a laser module that was far from ideal. We have since replaced that module and actually looking at replacing that laser completely. Too many problems with it. Thanks for watching.

Hello! I am having issues with my Xtool D1 Pro Laser. I received it and tried it, the first try was perfect. Then the second time I tried it wouldn't work. The laser would move around but the laser light barely had any strength. It would move around as if it was doing the job and would take the amount of time the project would take, however there were no marks on the plywood or anything and the light was very very weak. You could barely see. I emailed customer service and it has now been a 3 month battle or recommendations and changes they want me to make which I have but nothing has solved the issue. I went ahead and tried another laser head which is the one for metals. I did 1 dog tag that came out beautiful. I went ahead and tried to do another dog tag....same thing happened....the light was too weak barely visible, the laser would move around as if it was doing de project but nothing would engrave. I didn't change anything on the setting from first project to second. I was working with pre-establish material settings. Power speed and all was verified and still nothing. Do you have any idea what it could be or how to fix it?

You mentioned you tried a second laser head. It worked great on the first project. But after doing the first dog tag with the second laser head, it also began to have weak or no visible output. If I understand that correctly, the first question I have is whether the dog tag was coated/sprayed with anything prior to engraving? Email me at hobowithwood@gmail.com

I am having the exact problem. It worked fine for 2 days, then "lost power" (went through the motions, but laser was too dim to do anything) after trying a stainless steel tag. They sent me a new laserhead, and the same thing happened. It was fine with wood, but same issue after trying a tag. Help! I am so frustrated. I have only been able to do a few successful projects & have spent the rest if the time back and forth with xtool support.

I have the D1 pro 10w and for some reason it won't cut, engrave, or score. Functions like normal. Red crosshairs and blue light from what I assumed was the laser. But it won't make ANY marks. I'm currently emailing them and it's about 1 email per day. Uugghhh.

I finally have up on expecting ANY help from them. I got a different laser and moved on. Then, a full year after my last email, they reached out to see if I still needed help. The best thing you can do is move on. As soon as it's on the budget, get you one of these. You won't regret it. Https://hobowithwood.com/roly

Ok I got a question. I just started seeing my laser Go from super thin cut to wide and almost burn the wood to ash. I do have air assist and have cleaned with alcohol but what else could be wrong. Xtool has not got back to me yet. Been 2 days no response yet. If you could give me some ideas on this and also I am using program that came with stool not light burn…yet

it sounds like a focus issue. it could be as simple as a cracked dust lens causing the inability to focus the laser correctly. it could be as bad as a cracked dust lens that led to a cracked laser lens. i've had all of the above issues. i had FOUR cracked dust lenses before the laser module itself failed. try removing the dust lens and see if it improves. if you don't find a lens failure somewhere, experiment with moving the laser closer to the cutting surface to see if you see an improvement. this is not a solution, but a test to determine the issue. if closer doesn't help, move it further away and note the differences. my module failed in a relatively short amount of time. these are not that great. there are a lot of better options out there. i learned the hard way. regardless which laser you use, if you want to really get creative with it, Lightburn is a must. i watched videos for two weeks studying before starting their free trial. i wish you luck. but you are probably going to need a replacement module.

I'm having the same issue. Used it once to cut just a few small test squares. Tried using it the next day and it just gives me a charred box no matter what I do. Were you able to find the cause and fix it?
@HoboWithWood
@HoboWithWood Жыл бұрын
@@leahwalker902 the way I fixed my problem with my xTool, was to replace it. Mine was nothing but problems from the beginning. If you just bought it and you can return it, do so. I have more questions and comments from xTool owners than anyone else. If it's not about it not working, it's about it only completing part of a job. They say it is Lightburn compatible, but xTool users are constantly telling me the can't do the things I demonstrate. But they don't seem to have problems when they use XCS. The perfect fix is to return it.

@@leahwalker902 yes, I took apart the shield, cleaned with alcohol and qtip, and then took apart the lense cover and did the same. Has worked. Air assist definitely on. I also watched KZbin videos from xtool to help me figure out. It’s what they recommend when they got back to me. Good luck.

Mine did the same but my old lens looked good but I replaced it anyways and still the same I use to be able to cut MDF at 400mm @ 100 power and now I have to do it @ 100mm @ 100 and sometimes I still have to force it out, NO help from XTool. this is a new Xtool lens.

6:08 Bro, I had the same problem, the laser no longer cut, I thought it had cracked, but no, it was only dirty because of the smoke and debris generated by the cut. Xtool recommended a simple trick, It should be cleaned with alcohol and a microfiber cloth and voila, started cutting like factory.

Subscribe and watch my 2, 3 and 4 month reviews on the xTool. I've now gone through 4 dust lenses and an actual laser module main lens. Also watch my daily cleaning ritual video. The first one was probably from a lack of cleaning. But not the subsequent ones. In my four month review I demonstrate the air assist is actually sucking. I'm working to design a better nozzle to help make this better. I've got a new nozzle headed my way next week. Watch for an updated video and links to purchase a better nozzle for the air assist. xTool's nozzle is junk.

Without a doubt that crack lens is diffusing your laser output, reducing your power like crazy. you can see in the video the focused it is not as intense.
@HoboWithWood

Turns out the very first versions of the xTool didn't have this dust lens on it. I've heard from several owners that say they don't have this lens and have never had a problem with their laser with regular cleaning and maintenance. I suspect somewhere down the line, people who weren't cleaning properly, were possibly cracking their laser lens from being too dirty. So to protect people from themselves, xTool introduced this lens. It has been nothing but a problem for me, even with daily cleaning. I've finally just left it off. Still clean daily. (I typically burn 4 to 6 hours a day.) No issues and better more constant output. Thanks for watching. And everything I just said about the lens, is purely speculation.

My xtool d1 pro won't even power on,all I get is the little blue light near the sd card,I think this happened when I ride to connect my laser to another computer. I really have no idea how to fix it and I'm panicking now tbh,would you have any idea how to help me fix this issue please

This is a pretty common problem with xTool. I've seen may others complain of similar issues. It seems to be resolved with a new power supply and possibly a new control board. Here is a link describing their problem and their resolution. I've quit using my xTool and do not advise anyone to purchase one. Good luck. lahobbyguy.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1307

Hi. I run a 4K fiber optic laser at a fabrication company. I maintenance in myself too. That lens needs to be replaced. A bad lens doesn't allow the 100% of the light to shine through so it cuts at a reduced power. Reduced light = cutting at a reduced power rate. A new lens will fix the problem in my opinion. As for how it was damaged. It's probably from cutting on a surface that reflected the light back at the lens or it cut material that splashed back on to the lens. Such as cutting steel. The hot slag splatters back at the lens and scorches the lens. That results in cutting issues. The kerf gets larger and can't cut thru the part. Maybe you can help me with a problem I have. I think I have to clear the laser's memory becuz my Aunt sent too many programs to the laser via her app. I can't send a program from my PC to the laser because it tells me "its busy or paused". So I hit the "start button" and it starts cutting a program that my Aunt sent to it via the app. The laser was working just fine until she tried using her mobile app to cut. Now I can't program from my PC and when I hit the start button it begins cutting a program my Aunt sent via the app. Any ideas? I thought about deleting the file on the micro USB but I don't know where to download a new file to replace it with.

Thanks for watching and your comment. As to your big question, I have no idea on your programming issue. I just started my laser adventure two months ago. Sorry I can't help with that. As to my lens problem, I'm going through a lens every two weeks. After my first lens failure, I'm cleaning daily. But the lens still only last for a couple weeks before showing fatigue. As you pointed out, that makes it difficult to produces accurate results. I'm waiting to hear back from xTool about my issue. Good luck with yours and thanks again for watching.

Finally heard from xTool. But not before I just ordered and paid for two lenses. They indicated they may be sending me one. But, they lens is not needed for operation. It is merely a dust cover. So, I removed it and clean the laser daily. I'm back in business. Thanks for watching. Plus subscribe and share.
