Two things might be noted: 1) the surrounding arab-muslim nations treated the creation of Israel, kinda like the Brits treated America, and later Australia; somewhere to dump the people they didn't want. This helps explain why none of those nations will accept 'refugees' from the area. 2) Israel gave up the Gaza in 2005, pulling all Jewish people from the area, to make peace with the "palestinians' (it doesn't seem to be working out well) Subsequently, the people in the Gaza adopted hamas as their governing body; and enormous sums in money and material, sent to the Gaza to build and support infrastructure, was taken by hamas and turned to building tunnels and rockets. Just sayin.

This election resulted in a surprise victory for Hamas over Fatah. However, tensions between Hamas and Fatah escalated, leading to the Battle of Gaza in June 2007, where Hamas (very violently) ousted Fatah from Gaza following armed conflict. This series of events suggests that while Hamas was initially elected, their eventual control of Gaza was solidified through force. But even after that, polling data from native and foreign orgs showed a high level of organic support for the terrorist group among the native population. Even after the IDF counteroffensive, the numbers indicate a 38% approval rating for Hamas in Gaza. The population there is definitely radicalized, when you consider that even the alternatives are barely less hostile to Israel, compared to Hamas. The percentages of support for IDF or UN control were in the single digits in Gaza, and that was after the counteroffensive. Support for Hamas seems to have decreased in Gaza, but _increased_ in the West Bank (70%+), ever since the counteroffensive. These people coexisting with any outsiders is about as likely as it was for the Germans or Imperial Japanese during World War II, or the Arab League states before their truces. That only happened in each case after getting absolutely crushed militarily. Appeasement never worked. Peace offers only worked when made from a dominant position, with the implicit threat of destruction if refused.

After the Palestinians got into a war with the Jews in 1947 and Israel declared independence, 5 Arab armies invaded Israel, do you know a country that wouldn't occupy territories that would make it easier to defend itself against hostile neighbors after they attacked them? I believe it goes back to ancient Egypt around the time of the collapse of Akenaten's Empire. Neferatti his wife has an uncle "Ai" from the north who was made general of the chariot forces, a recent addition to Egypt's army. When Akenaten succeded several sons took his place as pharoh. All were assasinated except Tutankamen who passed and was succeded a series of four generals the last being Gen. Ai. This was all during a time of religious turmoil between pharoh and priests, as well as economic collapse and civil unrest. Hence the general's being brought in to restore order. I find it interesting the Bible refers to Adonai as being lord, as being god, and as promising the holy land of the north to the j e w s. Since adon means lord and Ai was the generals name. Upon assuming power as pharoh he would be Adon Ai or lord Ai. This would have been around 1500'ish bc. That's my rough understanding/suspicions although the exact dates and history need to be verified.

As an Englishman with no real religious leaning (although bought up ostensibly Christian) but who has read books through interest on the region, i totally agree with you! As you have said, if you go back far enough, some of the first recorded settlers in this region were Jews. They have then been fought against by so many others - but they WERE the first to call the region home. If anyone has a claim to the land, it is the Jews. There has been Arab settlers who have lived alongside the Jews in harmony, but then you have the terrorist groups who won't be happy with living near anyone who does not agree with their views. Let’s take the last thing you said and work backward. Even if what you said is (which it’s in fact not) that they were oppressed for 80 years do u think that “revenge” by killing raping and butchering babies and the elderly and innocent men and women and burning entire families with glee and excitement is justified??? If propaganda was a video this would be it. Completely omitting the Balfour declaration and the mass immigration of non resident European and Russian Jews into the region leading to more conflict and the displacement of resident Palestinians in the region who themselves are descended from the original Jews leading to the Nakba. Please next time state all the facts after thorough research and do not sugar coat history for your own narrative.
