This is so emotional, when I saw the thumbnail I actually thought that Henry was dead and he had been placed around the trees of his forest. Hello,” He said to them. Both startled by the other. For the engine, it was very unusual for anything to find him, let alone people. “Aren’t you two a bit young to be traveling along these tracks alone? Bad things could happen you know.” The two said nothing, just stared. “You’re a steam engine,” one spoke up. It was a young man. The old engine glanced curiously. “Yes, indeed I am.” Suddenly the young girl spoke up. “Do you have any stories?” The Engine began to laugh “Oh yes, I have many. In fact, here’s one you may have heard. Once anyone attached to a train…” He told the two a story of his young days, back when he was stubborn and prideful. The two children found it most enjoyable. “You must be joking, you didn’t really hide in a tunnel out of a fear of rain did you?” “No, I did not. I was not afraid of the rain. I just didn’t want my lovely paint to be spoiled.” The three laughed and smiled. Soon it was time for the children to leave. Before walking away, the small girl spoke up. “Excuse me sir, but what is your name?” The old engine looked down at his buffers. It had been so long since he thought about it, he had almost forgotten. A smile once more crept onto his face as his eyes met with the child’s. “My name,” he said. “Is Henry.” Neither of them knew it, but this would be a big moment for both of them. And would be the beginning of a fine new friendship.

ok I just had a head cannon that can make the episode henry's forest work So henry's crew think he likes the forest because its peaceful, but the real reason is because that was the place he was hidden away and managed to live somewhat peacefully in the forest. After Sir Topham Hatt took control of the railway and brought engines to work their, he needed a large engine to tackle express trains, and after his son found henry while on a hike in the woods, he rescued henry and had him work on sodor I know it shows henry in his new shape in this skit, but this is only inspired by this, not direct

This story didn't make cry because of the ending, but because of what my grandma told me. When she passes away she wants me to bury her in a forest because "I just want to be with nature for as long as it take to get to heaven." I don't know if I should be even be crying at this because of what my grandma sed. It just hit me in the feels. I guess i just need to enjoy my time with my grandma before that day comes. That day came to quick when my Ant Bev and Uncle Larry died. This is why Thomas will always hold a place in my heart, even if its original stuff or fan made stuff. It will always be comforting to watch.

He veered into the siding that he knew led to Henry’s Forest. He had remembered many years ago, before he was saved from being scrapped, Henry had taken Gordon, Edward and James down this line. His soul almost jumped out of his head when he heard a familiar voice say, “Who goes there? Please don’t take me.” Gordon uttered under his breath, “Henry?” He moved forward to get a better look and surely enough, a dirty, rusty, broken but still strong Green Black 5 was standing in front of him. Henry’s eyes lit up with happiness and a single tear rolled down his eye. “Gordon? Gordon! I’ve missed you so much, old pal! How are the others?”, said Henry. “Bill and Ben were sent back to the Port of Par, Toby’s still missing Henrietta, Clarabel was dismantled for parts, Percy was purchased by the National Railway Museum and will leave in the next few months, Mavis was scrapped and so was Stepney, and most recently, some saboteurs purposefully jammed Spencer’s safety valve, blowing up him and Thomas, who was close by. Thomas survived, though with minor burns.”, replied Gordon with tears stinging his eyes. Henry said, “Life’s been peaceful, mostly. Kids come down to listen to my stories. Occasionally, Paxton and surprisingly, Diesel 10, came down here since they felt bad.” Gordon was taken aback by this,”Can you still run?” “No” “Why not?” “My tender has been detached.” Gordon heard the horn of a diesel in the distance, “I’ll come back tomorrow with James and Edward. I’m planning to help get you out and then we can go to the mainland. Bye, Henry!” “Bye Gordon!”, said Henry. Unbeknownst to Henry, this was the start of another new chapter in his life. And, Henry the forest engine, was a legend once again

Possible Fates for the Engines: NWR No.1 was placed on Static Display at Tidmouth after being taken out of storage. Then was moved to Brendam for restoration to working order. NWR No.2 after withdrawal in 1965 was bought privately and was the first engine to operate on the Brendam & Suddery Heritage Railway in 1971. NWR No.3 was hidden in a forrest near Kelsthorpe Road until it was safe, now works on the GCR at Loughburrgh. NWR No.4, 8 & 5 was scrapped shortly after withdrawal. NWR No.6 & 7 were quietly sold to a private owner, current location is unknown but both are known to still be around. NWR No.9 & 10 were sold to a railway museum in Scotland thanks to being rare Scottish steam survivors.

Gordon, Emily, James, Edward and Toby all at a preservation museum each sharing their stories with railway enthusiasts, Duck and Oliver back with City of Turo on rail tours, and the Fat Controller's son now the head of the railway.

Fun fact Out of all the engines henry would have been the last Why? He is a black 5 and the black 5 on british rail lasted till the end of steam and there are some black 5s preserved so it means Yes ladies and gentlemen henry will be preserved, but for the others fate we wont know.

We need an actual movie made out of this. Like, an actual movie, produced my Warner Bros. or Paramount. Yeah, Thomas was always known as the main character (in the show at least), but this short clip gives so much more potential for a story, because this is a story ONLY Henry could be in. No other character in TTTE have a connection with the forest, but Henry does! Actually, I can't think of ANY other character, in ANY show, that has a connection with the forest! This is a story that's 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 for Henry.

When I saw the thumbnail, I was worried. I feared that this would be another dark take on Henry's fate from the Flying Kipper. And, while it would be sad, I was glad to be wrong. People may think this might take place after the series ending, but my head canon is that this took place in an alternate universe where deasilization effected the nwr (obviously wouldn't effect skarloey since it would be turned into a heritage like talllyllyn) some of the engines probably would of stayed like gordon Thomas and Edward and James, but some would probably not be so lucky like Henry.

Yes this is correct but this is an AU (alternative universe) the creator has the narrative freedoms to make his stories events however he wants it even if they aren’t realistic by the shows standards I’m not sure if he had come out and said why the engines are getting scrapped but he decided to make that way in his story

The Origins Of Henry’s Forest Based around this very video ~~~~~~~~~~ Henry and Edward had just returned to the sheds after a long day of work at the Brendam Branchline. “Whew, boy,” Henry sighed. “I thought I was gonna burst a cylinder.” “I thought I would too,” chuckled Edward. Soon, the engines were talking about the work they had gone through. With nothing else to say, Percy decided to change the subject, but Henry was far from ready for what Percy had in mind. “Henry,” he started. “I’ve been meaning to ask something to you.” “What is it?” replied Henry. “I already know about the tunnel that was named after you,” Percy added. “But I would like to know about how your forest got its name.” Henry was taken aback by the question, but he maintained his composure. “Come to think of it,” said Thomas. “I’ve always wondered about that as well.” In just seconds, the other engines were just as curious as Percy. Henry didn’t know what to say, but Edward stepped in. “Guys, please, slow down,” he said to them. “Let Henry explain.” The engines stopped talking all at once, and allowed Henry to speak. “Okay, guys,” he sighed. “I’ll tell you, but I suggest that you pay close attention to what I’m about to say.” And this was the story Henry told them: {Years Ago} Years ago, when Henry was first built, he was one of a kind. However, he was a poor steamer. His firebox was small compared to other engines, but of course, no one knew at the time. Apart from his poor performance, Henry was still kind to anyone he came across, often apologizing for any sort of mishap. As time went by, people that traveled on the railway that Henry used to work at were starting to think that steam engines are no good anymore. Henry blamed himself for giving steam engines a bad image, but his driver often told him otherwise. Soon, the railway had switched to diesel locomotives, and most of the steam engines were scrapped, while a tragic few, including Henry, were miraculously preserved, narrowly escaping the cutter’s torch. However, while the few survivors were sent to other railways, nobody wanted Henry. His tender was already covered with painted words written by his driver, saying “Don’t kill me”, “Save me”, and “I’m alive”. “Well, old boy,” his driver said to him one day. “We’ve got some good news, and we’ve got some bad news.” “What is it?” asked Henry. “The good news is we’ve managed to get you spared from the torch,” his driver answered. “But the bad news is that, well...” He paused for a moment, before continuing. “No one can take you. At least, not yet.” This only made Henry even more sad. “But,” his driver added. “They’ve given us a choice of where we can put you, until someone can have you.” This immediately caught Henry’s attention. “Do you know where you like to go?” his driver asked. Henry thought of where he could go. He needed a place to stay, but no other railway wanted him. However, there was one railway that he had in mind. He wasn’t sure if they wanted him, but he knew that it was his only chance to be preserved. “Sodor,” he said to his driver. “I would like to go to Sodor.” Throughout his life, Henry had heard about Sodor, and had always wanted to visit its main railway, the North Western Railway. Now, he finally has that chance. However, when he arrived at Sodor, it was very quiet, not much activity going on. He did pass by a few engines, but they didn’t really pay any attention to him. Ultimately, Henry decided to not bother them at all, until he felt like he needed to. Eventually, he came across a forest. A regular, nameless forest. There, he found a rusted, disused track, and decided to hide there. As time went by, his driver would often check up on him, to keep him company, but later, his driver was getting old. Henry noticed it, but he didn’t want to sound worried in front of him. Then, one day, bad news struck once more. “Sorry, old boy,” his driver huffed. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep up with you.” “I-I understand,” Henry replied. He was trying to hold back his tears. “I’ll be okay on my own.” His driver smiled. “That’s my boy,” he muttered. “I better go now. Life has to go on. Farewell, Henry.” And he walked away. As soon as his driver was out of his sight for the final time, Henry, unable to hold his tears back any longer, finally cried, until he eventually fell asleep. Days went by since his driver left him for the last time. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and months became years, but no one noticed him. Ever since his driver left him, Henry was all alone, in a regular, nameless forest, on a rusted, disused track, with no one to talk to except for the animals. His now rusted tender was eventually decoupled from his now rusted cab by some bushes that grew from underneath the track. Henry didn’t know what to think about, other than his time back on the previous railway. He tried to not think about then day his driver left him, but he couldn’t get it out of his mind. The permanent absence of his driver kept reminding him that he was all alone. Then, one day, Henry’s life was changed forever. He heard two kids playing nearby. He finally had company. He wanted to call out, but he didn’t want to scare anyone. So, he waited, to see if the kids would stumble upon him. Miraculously, one of them, a little girl, stumbled upon him. He hoped that his appearance wouldn’t scare the little girl, but surprisingly, it didn’t. The little girl was intrigued by him. “Hello,” she said to him. “Who are you?” Henry was at a loss for words. He was finally talking to someone for the first time in years, since his driver left him. Not wanting to sound shy, he answered. “M-My name is... Henry,” he stuttered. The little girl smiled. “I’m Bridget,” she replied. Just then, the other kid, a little boy, came into Henry’s view. “And that’s my brother, Stephen,” added Bridget. Stephen waved silently at Henry, but upon seeing Henry smiling at him, he decided to speak up. “What... exactly happened to you?” he slowly asked. Henry explained his whole backstory. He initially didn’t want to say anything, not wanting to make them cry, but to his surprise, the kids didn’t cry after he explained his backstory. They just felt sorry for him. Then, an idea suddenly popped into Stephen’s mind. “Maybe, our grandfather can help you,” he said to Henry. “He runs the railway here on Sodor. He’ll know what to do.” And he darted off with Bridget in tow. Shortly thereafter, Henry was introduced to the NWR controller, Sir Topham Hatt. He was delighted to hear from him that he now has a new home on Sodor. He was then pulled from the siding, and soon, he was refurbished, given a new crew, and became a new addition to the NWR. Since then, Henry had been working on the railway over the next few years, and whenever he had spare time, he would often bring Stephen and Bridget for a ride. At one point, they came across the very forest that he was stuck in. Of the many forests on Sodor, this one still had no name. “I wonder what would be a good name for this forest,” he said to the kids. “How about ‘Henry’s Forest’?” replied Bridget. “It’s where we found you after all.” Henry initially thought it wouldn’t work, but he knew that Bridget did have a point. “Henry’s Forest, it is,” he said. And he chuffed away. {Present Day} The engines were amazed by the story. “Now, you know how my forest became what it is,” he said to the others. Percy had some tears forming in his eyes, having heard about what Henry had to go through in the past, but he held them back, not wanting to worry the others and immediately changed the subject. “Had it not been for Stephen and Bridget, your forest would’ve remained a nameless forest. So, I guess we have them to thank for.” The others could only agree. As the engines went to sleep, Henry gazed up at the night sky, thinking about the very day when he first met Stephen and Bridget, the very day when he was saved by their grandfather, the very day he joined the NWR, but he also thought about his old driver, wondering where he is. However, Henry also knows that his driver is somehow still watching him. He then smiled at the sky as it was lit up by the stars, and slowly went to sleep.
