Kenya life expectancy dropped from 1982 to its lowest in 1999 at 53 years as a result of Daniel Moi dictatorship . After 2002 Kenya life expectancy improved to its highest until roughly 61.5(women higher above 65) in 2013 . The Army recruited anyone with 32 teeth. The junior airforce men had to have A-Levels or technical diplomas. To date, the airforce still recruits people with minimum university entry grades, which unfortunately makes airmen to be the same education levels with the officer ranks of the army and navy, hence the bad blood.

Do you think the coup made Moi into who he was or did the people who attempted the coup know something about him that others didn't? I don't know. But looking at it with hindsight, I think they were on to something.
@cobwebtheorem75387 ай бұрын
The coup made him into who he became. His 'Nyayo' philosophy initially meant following in the footsteps of his predecessor. He was ruling with the entire administration left by Kenyatta. After the coup he sought to surround himself with his tribesmen, that were very few in Nairobi. He changed the education system overnight, doing away with 'A'-Levels so that 'his' people could move straight from Form Four to university...very long story there.
