To be fair on that point there was also the "ying and yang chakra", and Genjutsu was kind of the only specialized jutsu to be pointed as Ying Chakra based. Afterwards they made the two in like... The two reincarnations and what not... but at the time Sakura was specifically good at the chakra element that was used for Genjutsu.

Hashirama encouraged the Senju clan to intermarry with other clans in the village as he wanted to spread the strong blood through the village instead of just the clan. He encouraged them to drop their pride so they would have a stronger village as a whole instead of just the clan, thats how they disappeared into konoha. Also the Chinoike clan has the Ketsuryugan which is also a red eye

its a stretch using eye color as a justification lol and its not true that all uchiha have dark brown eyes (not black its easy to confuse cause artists dont use brown pigment in their work ) its just a common color for japanese people kakashi had the same color as did hashirama and yamato/tenzo, as well as might guy, lee, an others Kurenai's eyes are i suppose an inherited trait of her clan which specializes primarily in genjutsu it could have significance but kishimoto didnt think that far for her character development and it shows with how he essentially wrote her out of the story by making her become pregnant with asuma's child who would then later take her place on the scene. it was a wasted opportunity in my opinion would have liked to have learned more about her since she was prominent in the original naruto as one of the top jonin etc. and it kinda sad cause even the lesser known jonin (aoba, genma, shirado, Hayate and ebisu) got screen time and exposition lol

@@Logan20079 black is not a registerable color in the human iris sphere you must be thinking of the pupil which is the single dark or black circle in the center of your eyes. but to be more specific to your point manga artists do not possess brown ink so often times when they want to portray a character as having dark brown, dark blue, or even gray colored eyes they have to paint it as pitch black and then have to later tell concept artists for their book covers that a specific character has a specific color of eyes etc. if a real person where to have pitch black colored eyes that would mean there is something medically wrong with their iris' or their eyes suffered heavy blood clotting etc. thus giving the iris a "blackened" colorization

I have been trying to defend Kurenai vs Itachi on Reddit. People keep talking as if they knew the extent of Itachi's abilities when it was literally his first introduction didn't know the extent of Itachi and Kakashi's Anbu tenure. Also, I think her father prevented Kakashi and the rest of the chunin from fighting the 9 nine tails to save their assets. Kakashi was a prodigy and his power was invaluable to lose at the time. Sounds like missed opportunity. A lot can be done with characters like her. Exploring interclan relations would've make the series a bit more interesting and expand on its world building. Just imagine the potential of exploring the Yuhi as a result of intermarriages that did occur a long time ago as an attempt to proliferate the Uchiha clan throughout the lands and Kurenai's eyes are a result of some mutation of sorts of these intermarriages. Speaking of clans, there is a Japanese tradition of adopting a non blood related male into the family and uses the family's surname. Wouldn't this be happened to clans like the Senju? Masashi could've incorporate it into the story.

I don't think Kurenai is meant to be useless or weak. As Dygo said, series, especially later in second part, focuses more on top 0.1% shinobi with abilities, that are much higher above than common rest. I imagine among common characters, Kurenai is probably one of strongest Leaf shinobi. Her genjutsu is high level and would take on any common higher ranked shinobi. Problem is, she had to face Itachi - Uchiha who has unique genjutsu, that basically counters any other high level genjutsu user.

Okay this is my theory on this....the Uchiha also has Main and Branch families. The main can get tomoe while the branch are tomoe-less. Since the Uchiha takes pride in their Sharingan, the branch cannot inherit the Uchiha name and have to take on a different name and live away from the main family. If you think about it, it makes a little more sense and relatable to the Tomoe-less Sharingan theory of this video.

Also, Uchihas who unlock the sharingan in their own eyes only have them turn red when they are USING it. The only sharingan users whose eyes are red all of the time are non-Uchihas who have had Uchiha eyes transplanted into them (like Kakasi and Danzo) and so don't have the ability to turn them off. Kurenai can't have gotten her eyes that way, since her father AND daughter also have them. Granted, we do have an example of a ninja who gains a visual jutsu without the associated eye look (Himawari can use Byakugan, but doesn't have the Hyuuga "blind" look to her eyes), so I suppose the reverse could happen, but it seems unlikely.

i think canonically, if this is true, it would make sense when kakashi had them observe itachi when he first returned to the village as an observation of potential for them and having them be the interceptor is a chess move on kakashi’s part because of the fact that kakashi had never used the sharingan against another sharingan before in an applicationary sense prior. knowing that kisami had a large chakra weapon, having chakra sensitivity based on this analysis, genjustu vs. genjutsu, it was kakashi’s operational maneuver make sense, because he steps in after so quarter to half sharingan makes sense. so it makes the rest make sense. there should be a manga to this,. to perspective

His actions made the remaining Senju enemies of the Uchiha clan and this would result in the Uchiha ALLOWING their Senju comrades to have "accidents" in the field during the 2nd and 3rd Ninja Wars; things like not communicating vital intel, not being quick enough to supply medical equipment, not attempting to rescue allies who had fallen behind enemy lines. This would continue until the elders decided that the Uchiha and Senju would not be allowed to work together, which most likely saved Tsunade's life.

It absolutely destroys my heart that you didn’t notice her actually PUTTING KISAME UNDER GENJUTSU!! The feat was so much more impressive because we see her basically successfully put TWO Akatsuki members under genjutsu at the same time, and, obviously, Itachi could use a counter, but Kisame seemed absolutely stumped at the moment and if Itachi wasn’t there, Kisame would’ve been in trouble

Kisame would'ev been a even worse opponent for Kurenai because he basically is a perfect junchuriki while wielding Samehada, making him impervious to genjutsu. The chakra flow is unified and when Kisame is put in a genjutsu Samehada would just help him snap out of it like Kurama would do for Naruto after they were on good terms, or even Bee and his tailed beast.

Awesome 📹. When Sasuke awakened the Sharingan he had tomoes in both eyes. In the right eye 👁 the tomoe is the the top right corner and in the left eye 👁 the tomoe is the lower left corner foreshadowing when he gets the Ethernal Mangekyo Sharingan when Sasuke awakens it, the triangle 🔺️ in the left eye pointing down and the right triangle pointing up.

Wood Release is the combination of water and earth chakra. Kurenai's chakra nature is Yin Release. I agree that giving her red eyes was a confusing design choice. I could go for her being from some branch clan of the Uchiha if that branch was shunned for mixing blood with non-Uchihas. I don't think I can get behind the idea of her being a Senju other than the broader idea that the Senju may have married outside of their clan to unify Konoha. It's one or the other. A Senju-Uchiha child would have been a major character in the series. Maybe her creation had a different idea for her that went away. Or maybe the detail about the Uchiha not marrying outside of the clan came later and so any blood lineage of hers had to be scrapped.

It’s not impossible. The Senju clan, for example, went “extinct” because they decided to marry into other clans. This, by the way, was completely intentional on their part, because they wanted a village where one or two clans wouldn’t dominate the village. So they’d drop the Senju name and mix into other families. So with that in mind, it’s completely possible that some, not many, Uchiha would have followed that and did the same thing by choosing to marry into other families. It’s not like there’s a rule against that amongst the Uchiha. By the way, this is the same reason as to why it’s theorized that Kakashi is a descendent of Tobirama. That, plus the fact that Sakumo has a piece of the cloth that would be found on Hokage robes on his Jonin vest.
