Trisha has a talent of making people feel comfortable enough to divulge deep traumas it’s really insane and impressive

I have this “talent”, or I’d say ability ,as well! Every time I’m in an Uber I somehow accidentally get the drivers full life story, hopes and dreams and deepest traumas within literally 5 minutes. I’ve definitely noticed Trisha is the same way! I think in order to be that kind of person, it’s not JUST about making others feel comfortable, being a good listener, or being really engaged in a conversation. That’s part of it of course, but it’s also about being seem (by vibe alone) as a totally non-threatening and non-judging person, a genuine empath, and someone who has been through serious struggle, trauma, hardship, and understands what that actually means in the real world. That last part is crucial, because it you have all the previous qualities, but you haven’t been kicked in the ass by life and remain ignorant to the struggles people face… then people won’t want to share their struggles with you, because you wont likely understand or be able to provide any comfort or value to the conversation.

Honestly i dont get that vibe from him. Hes always saying smth about his past or being fat or whatever & never has been able to back that up with anything. & he also is kinda unhinged tbh the way he accepts & normalizes violence all the time. He seem self centered with a high opinion of himself & incapable of true introspective thoughts. Liking teal swan is also a big red flag. What he's describing in 1:42:42 is called "hypervigilance." Its a trauma response to spontaneous abuse where your brain conditions itself to always be prepared and seek out any potential threat. It is treatable. It comes with knowing someone deeply and building trust, but it takes a long time. Also nervous system calming behaviors are helpful. I have a lot in common w this dude.

The way Leo explains the thoughts in a relationship hit the nail on the head with me. I think it's due to past abusive relationships, but I feel better when single, but lonely.. Then when dating someone, it just adds so much extra worry, cheating, are they okay, if something happened, etc.. It just sucks! When they'd not let me know when they are home right away, I'd be paranoid a crash happened on the highway and google it to make sure they are safe.. it's just constant stress.

I’m only 25 minutes in and I’m so inlove with this pod! Reminding yourself you’re in control of your choices, but allowing yourself to make the “wrong” choice until you’re tired of your own shit, is how I ultimately quit drinking. I was tired of the battle with myself and feeli by like “I can’t stop” so I asked myself if I wasn’t ready to quit and I wanted to drink, to admit I was CHOOSING the thing that was ruining my life. I really credit that to me finally being able to quit. It us against our own minds! Anyway! I never heard of Leo but I’m definitely going to check his videos out now ❤

What Leo is saying about changing behaviors reminds me a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); it doesn’t work for EVERYONE, but the theory suggests that your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected; if you start changing your thinking (through practice of first, ACKNOWLEDGING your thoughts/behaviors/feelings), then you can change your feelings which would in turn change your behaviors.

I think the issue is nowadays that being outspoken is classed as problematic 😩 like no give me your truth and nothing but the truth! And then I will make my own decision if I want to associated with you, simples! No hidden agenda I love it ❤️ much love to you Leo!

I really love that he doesn't give unsolicited advice. Like she addresses her issues with weight etc and he never tries to give her advice for it UNLESS she asks him about how he manages his own diet. I think one of the biggest things im personally trying to work through is giving people unsolicited advice, i do it cause in my head i think ohhh i really wanna help this person sharing their problem with me cause i really love them and i want them to be better BUT i need to also realize that not everyone either looks up to you for advice or comes to you to seek advice. Biggest lesson for me is : Keep it to yourself unless they ask for advice

I also have the issue with thinking something bad happened to someone because they dont text or call me back, its always assuming the worst when youre not in control of a situation. Its catastrophizing and it sucks, i hate it.

Wow wow wow this was such a roller coaster of an interview in the best way. First, i didn’t know who Leo was but he’s so refreshing and going in blindly into the interview it was hard and shocking the first part of the interview (the segment with his dad was brutal and uncomfortable but so much compassion for Leo) He won me over, when he opened up about his struggles because it showed all his layers. One of my fave interviews so far. Good Job, Just Trish Team 🫶🏻

when leo talked about always being aware bc of trauma responses. i FELT i thought i was alone. and anyone i talked to says it’s insecure or what not. but i know myself. and its not that. just ive never been the only girl in my relationships. or i never had a friend who wasn’t fake yk. it’s hard to trust everyone. and those thoughts consume me 💀😭it’s so draining to find someone true

The best duo is someone as aggressive as Leo and dramatic as Trish. Like her reaction when he’s talking about him fighting is everything. To be honest, this crossover is everything, because I listen to Leo for my self help and Trish for my entertainment. Church drops on Saturday and Sunday in this household 🥰🤭

The thought process behind the binge eating I don’t agree with. I’m sure it works for some people, but the healthiest way is to allow yourself to eat without guilt and shame. I struggled with bulimia/dysmorphia for over 10 years. But years before I started binging & purging, I developed disordered eating due to my mother shaming me for how much I ate & would always let me know when I looked “bigger.” Shame is the problem. When I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted when I wanted without any guilt, THAT was when my desire to binge eat changed. It is a slow process, for sure. But healing from the shame is what forms self love & healthy habits. And unlearning my fatphobic upbringing was huge for me. The shame based thought process, even when it seems a *little nicer* ex: “I’m doing this for your own good” is not sustainable
