Later in the day we head into the town of Sosua where we visit one of the nicest beaches in the area, Sosua Beach. We take a walk along the beach and then head over to the next beach Playa Alicia. Here we stop at a restaurant called the Waterfront.
Throughout the video we talk about why life is better in the Dominican Republic from outdoor living, to the relaxed way of life to amazing weather year round.

Yes, I know how it is. I lived up in the mountains in Nagua which is down the road from Sosua. For two years, I spent more time there than in New York. My oldest two children grew up there with me, their Dominican dad and his family. Such hospitable and humble people. Big, loving, families that make you feel at home. Dancing bachata and perico ripiao was my favorite thing to do.

My wife of 25 years is Dominican and I have been in DR numerous times and all over the island. Currently live in Florida but we are working towards buying a property and may end up living here eventually Yes., life is more simple with the exception of the capital, Santo Domingo, which is where most of my wife's family resides. I stayed in Casa Linda for a month and a half in 2021. I'm either going to buy a property there or Sosua Ocean Village. I think the north coast, in general, is a gem in the Caribbean. It is so affordable right now and no hurricanes or earthquakes affect the area. Also, most tourists visit Punta Cana, which I think is over rated. I LOVE this area - heaven on earth.

Relatives living on the east coast of Nova Scotia have gotten 80 cm of snow with an additional 50 cm expected by Monday, requiring road graders - not snow plows - to help clear roadways. Living in the DR for the time being seems to be a good choice in an effort to avoid snow it seems ❄️ 😅.

Love your matching sunglasses and tops. Wow. Im thinking and thinking of spending few weeks maybe even months when we finally retire. For now we onlly can enjoy couple of weeks over there. We are visiting DR since my son was 2 y old. Thats 33 years already. Even thou we only stay at all inclusive, we do notice a lot of changes . 33 years ago we has securities with guns . It was never very dangerous, but still there were securities in every corner. And look it now, looks safer than in Toronto 😅

Have you two spent any time in Santo Domingo? My wife and I were in Punta Cana in December looking for a condo but don’t really like the area. Not much to do as far as just waking around it didn’t seem. Headed to Sosua area next and Panama after. Santo Domingo may offer more for us to so far as being able to just walk around, shop, dine and overall seeing the country.
