I suspect I was a man with increasing liver damage...that's why I started eating better (no processed or fast foods) and switched to a mostly vegetarian diet with lots of fish for my main protein source. No beef. No chicken. No pork! I also have psoriatic arthritis so ditching my sugar addiction and getting the meats out of my life, along with 16 hr a day fasting has changed my life in just a few months! My cholesterol has dropped and so has my blood pressure (which was also trending higher over the past few years).

Hello, Dr. Berg; Thank you for all you do. (I think it is wonderful that you teach so people can help themselves.) BTW, I noticed you didn't mention the connection to prescription drugs. I have asthma, COPD, & asbestosis for which I was prescribed corticosteroids. I also took OTC & sinus meds. It seems all of those can also actually cause liver damage similar to what you describe here. I assume your prescription would be the same regardless? I quit carbs & later alcohol, changing diet & life for better health & to lose fat/weight. I still have some health issues but I probably would have died if not for you & others like you. Now if I could figure out how to complete my transformation. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!

@@PhayzinOut Well I hope you have continued success in that... many men are prescribed 2,3,4,5,6 meds - together. One leads to another. My observation is with my son and other patients I have seen during his time under the care of 2 doctors. It’s very difficult with some cases- he is 117 kg up from 80kg- a huge increase. Always very slim and good looking young teen, put on 3 bad meds one after another starting with an Epilepsy drug. All downhill since. The worse the damage the deeper doctors bury their head in the sand. We’ve tried a lot of diets ,I do think a medical keto diet would help him but which one we don’t know yet. Covid + Lockdown stopped the process. Good luck - keep going!!

Let's not forget if the liver is being overburdened by excess lipolosys, gluconeogenis, and converting lactic acid back into sugar as happens on a keto diet, you aren't going to be able to have enough energy left over to destroy estrogen. Same reason why people on keto can't handle alcohol as much. It requires glucose to be able to process toxins efficiently.

This is a question he does not dare answer. It is direct medical advice, which will not only get him kicked off this channel , but he could also lose his licence. Try to see if a medical nutritionalist with experience in keto can answer your question. See if your fathers specialist can recommend one.
@diogenes-apostle3 жыл бұрын
No, keto is not safe for him! Does your dad suffer from chronic constipation? I'm sure he does. What he needs to do is start getting his bowels moving properly again. He should be moving his bowels everyday -- not once a week! Vitamin B1, Triphala and (temporarily) cascara sagrada will surely help with this. He also needs to start eating bitter and sour foods, like bitter melon and Granny Smith apples. He also need an herb called kutki. These things should surely rejuvenate his liver 🙏🏿

Stinging nettle root is not a clinically supported inhibitor or aromatase. Rather, (-)3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran, present in stinging nettle root, is a weak binder of SHBG. SHBG ordinarily sequesters testosterone and causes a reduction in free testosterone (so there is a potential benefit). Further, mouse models have shown that this compound was able to lower blood glucose levels and body weight in diabetic mice. HOWEVER, the dosage provided to the mice was way higher than anything I've seen commercially available after doing a 1-minute Google shopping search. Further, the mice were provided the active compound - (-)3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran - over stinging nettle root. While it's probably not harmful to take this compound, no human trials have supported the notion that it provides any tangible benefit, and the dosages are way higher than most individuals would be willing to take.
