I've lived here in Vail for almost 5 years and what he said in the vid never really rang true or thought about in that capacity until now. Literally every house in this town has a view of the highway and the highway noise is just something that I guess I have gotten used to so much. Now that its spring and I'm opening windows to get some air flowing, I am noticing more highway and construction noise. Summit is probably a better place to live, but having Beaver Creek and Avon where the valley opens up a little makes it worth living on this side of Vail Pass. Great vid!

The mountain peaks of vail are way more beautiful than almost any mountain town. Views from up in the hills looking at vail mountain are stunning. Aspen has Highway 82 that many homes look at and the traffic and congestion there is terrible. Everyone knows summit county is where the cheaper and more affordable ski resorts are. Vail real estate is some of the most expensive in the world and there’s a reason why. No town matches up to the how unique the village is. You’re just mad that it would take you 20 years of working to afford a 300sq ft studio condo in east vail.

The interstate is not nearly as big a problem as the housing crisis/inflated rent and all the liberal loons. Those are the only two real problems. But you are right to say sarcastically that vail resorts is the greatest employer there is. I worked for VRI for several years and i have shown more respect to bowel movements than that company has for its employees.

I never had the pleasure of working for Vail resorts, but I have heard many stories about it. People that quit and work at Copper or A basin are so much happier than they where in Vail. I had a friend who work for Keystone and was on his way to the company Christmas party when some guy cut in front of him in the parking lot, he almost hit him. He yelled at the guy, then went inside, they guy turned out to be a top dog for Keystone.. the next day he didn't have a Job.

You are so right! It is not beautiful and it is like Disneyland - fake. Do not get the appeal to so many.

I don’t live in Vail, but I visit there a lot. One flaw you missed, the locals treat you like you did something horrible. The Grocery Store next to Mai Palace on the other side of Gore Creek is a great example, they treat you like dogs. Another example is this one walmart a couple miles away, they again treat you like dogs. They don’t even wave to you in their car. The only nice people you will meet are tourists.

You’re completely wrong. I have been staying by the interstate, which you brought up probably 1,000 times, and the noise is really not a problem. I also played at the vail golf course yesterday actually, and I never even heard the cars.

If you live in West Vail near inner mountain: Bellflower, Kinnickinick, Bassingdale or Snowberry you will not hear I-70. Also, if you live in East Vail off Main Gore Dr, Juniper, Meadow Dr you will not hear traffic either, you did not mention this. Yes I-70 does pass right though the town, but you do get used to it. Also, you are completely wrong about hearing the traffic when hiking as it "takes a few miles to get away from the roar". You only have to hike a quarter to a half mile on the trail you showed: Pitkin. As for the other hiking trails: Booth/Bighorn it is the same. On Deluge and Gore Creek trails you won't hear any traffic from the beginning. Get your facts straight before posting a video like this, or better yet, just stay in Summit county!

Hahaha. I have been to those areas and you can still hear I 70 it does not scream like it does in other parts.. but there is still a nice hum.. also if you get used to it why does the town want to cover I 70? A new proposal on how to hide I 70 come out every 5 years. Those trail heads still have a nice hum on them. But the sound of I 70 is not the worst part of Vail.. it's the view and the fact that half the town lives in a shadow for a good part of the day.. in Vail you wake up and you look out your window and you see the other side of the valley and the I 70.. no beautiful open view of the mountains, no lakes, just some condos and the interstate. I will stay out of Vail.. what reason would I have to come there? Ohh maybe I could Vist one of the restaurants or shops they have there, because no other town in Colorado has those... oh wait. Nvm.
