This concept is so simple in its wisdom, so important to know / practice, and yet seemingly not common knowledge? Hmm? Don't allow the money hungry FOOD / DRUG companies advertise your good health and quality of life away with eye candy packaging and cool slogans. You're going to grow old and your body will fail, but at what quality of health / life do you want the body to fail? It's is a complex game; like Chess, this body management, but with Dr. Becky G. and others it can be doable. Thanks Dr. G and Dr. G2

I've been following your low-carb, high-fat, mod protein diet for years, DB. And I've been doing 16:8 - 20:4 IFing for years, too. Nice to hear about the one-two punch. Looks good and feels good on this 54-year-old bod. AND it helps me bounce right back up from my all-too-many falls -- usually. Thanks for keeping us up on it all!

I thought I had a healthy diet eating lots of fruit, when I found your chanel I immediately download your low carb list. Thank you Dr. Becky I been doing IF and LC and the weight keeps coming off. I still allow myself to have a high carb and my choice is baked yams once in a while. God bless you always!

I often wonder about fasting while on VLC or Keto diets. Most of the timing info appears to presume that your liver glycogen is full, that you have excess sugar in the blood, and that you need to fast for a while before you begin to be in ketosis. I'd like to see some studies of fasting while in a fasting mimicking state.

Perfectly explained! I’m not a total novice with low carb and intermittent fasting but I’m trying to help my boyfriend (age 51) who has some weight to lose, is on meds for type 2 diabetes and low dose blood pressure meds. He’s also addicted to Diet Coke and diet sprite (sigh)! Do you have a suggestion on weening him off this poison and any videos that explain how these wreak havoc on his health?

Can you do a program on ‘zero net carb’ products such as bread? Aldi’s provides a bread that has zero net carbs, but the rest of it’s nutritional stats concern me too. If you would like to see the Nutrition Panel from this specific product. I can send you a photo for reference. Thanks.

Im an Endomorph with insulin resistance and celiac so i decided to go keto wich is high fat,medium protein and low carb, funny thing is after i went keto i feel less hungry between meals than i did before going keto.

I am 75 and just started IF combined with lower carbs. I had to work up to the 16 hour IF. I start my morning with black coffee and 2-3 ounces (measured) of orange juice which equals about 45 calories and 12 grams of carbs. Will this small amount of orange juice break my fast? And yes, I know I should not have orange juice but I buy the high fiber with no sugar added. Thanks so much for what you do.

I've done the Palumbo variant of keto diet and it has worked wonderfully. I'm up for trying this version. I have a question though, would I also have to do a high carb cheat meal once a week to "shock the body" like with the Palumbo diet, or can I eat the same low carb meal every day for a year?

That's for insulin, but how do I stop my body from storing fat? Knowing that not all calories are equal and excess dietary fat leads to greater fat accumulation than does excess dietary carbohydrate. Fat being 12% more effective as it doesn't need extra steps like insulin and fat transformation to be stored.

Hi Doctor Becky, I am following you for few months now. I am thin (so dont want to lose weight, instead want to gain a bit), 50 years old, I want to get rid of my tummy fat. Also, my mother is diabetic, so want to remain safe from insulin (diabetic) problem. Plz suggest the meal changes. Thanks

I have type 2 diabetes and when I fasted for 3 and half days, my blood sugar was still high. I then ate after the fasting session and took my meds and my blood sugar dropped so low I felt weak. My blood sugar never drops that low when I eat normally without fasting. I wish I could explain this.

Hello Dr Becky, I'm just currently using this method LCIF. My question is when I eat fats and protein and Low carbs do I need also to count my calories? I eat almond bread, cookies and etc using almond and coconut flour I bake myself. Can I eat anything as long as it's a low carb? Or do I need also to count my calories? I'm trying to lose weight. Thanks.

starting on monday... looking at this list... this will be torture. i dont eat dead animals except for an occasional hamburger. i wonder how long i can last. the biggest issue is giving up coffee creamer in the morning. if i consume it, it will break my fast and/or start my eating window at 4:30 am. by 3:00 i'll be a zombie. gonna work out the kinks as i go.

Noticed on the low carb food list the shellfish includes oysters but doesn’t include clams or mussels, wonder if clams and mussels are problematic?

Yes; this was confirmed to me, the hard way, when I had dinner at my brother’s house last night: 2 glasses of red wine, corn, and stuffing, combined with an otherwise nutritious meal... topped-off with chocolate ice cream! (Think the wine allowed me to lower my guard against the high glycemic food choices...) This morning, I’m UP 2 lbs! Oy. Back to low carb and intermittent fasting! 👍 Thank you, Dr. Becky!!! Love you ❤️ - PS: Got home before 9p, changed my clothes, and sat down to watch about an hour of tv before getting ready for bed. When I next looked at the clock... it was 12:38a.m! What?!? Did I pass out for over 3 hrs due to insulin overload? Yikes!

I like your videos,and for people that are insulin resistant i agree for low carb approach but i dont agree that is more powerfull for weight loss then high carb diet,there has been many studies with low carb vs high carb,and with same high protein intake there was no difference in weight loss so low carb diet is not better for weight loss,weight loss = caloric deficit ,that is my opinion and i have tested it on many other clients

soo...those 5$ Subways might do me in...Dang it. hope I can run those carbs off...guess I can. Good video to remind me. Steak and also the Chicken sub is 40 carbs..not too bad...for me...I might check to see if flatbread makes it lower but doubt if it's that much lower.
