Hosea Santana The reasons for his falling out are very nuanced. 1) Malcolm was trying to move the NOI towards active participation in politics and the Civil Rights movement and the NOI did not want this; 2) There was a lot of greed and exploitation and corruption among NOI leaders and Malcolm X found out. They knew Elijah Muhammad was sick and feared that if EM died, Malcolm X would try to take over leadership and would morally clean out all the corruption (ie, kick them out); 3) The NOI leaders in Chicago had become jealous of Brother Malcolm and started poisoning the mind of Elijah Muhammad against him; 4) Malcolm X - in trying to handle the issue of Elijah Muhammad’s impregnation of the young secretaries, told a few others within the NOI in an effort to help prevent more damage to the NOI in the long run and his idea backfired; and 5) Brother Malcolm’s shift towards more orthodox Islamic beliefs while still in the NOI did create problems. Contrary to popular belief, he did not just all of a sudden convert in Mecca; his conversion process to Sunni Islam spanned a few years but was finally complete in Mecca. If you go back and listen to all of his speeches and interviews, you’ll find some from the period he was still in the NOI in which he sounds practically like a Sunni Muslim, not describing WD Fard as Allah and saying things like “We judge a man by his conscious behavior, not his skin color”. Malcolm X got in trouble for this deviation and would then apologize and go back to teaching the NOI’s doctrine. He seemed to keep going back and forth on that. Anyone who thinks his deviation away from NOI beliefs to Sunni Islamic beliefs did not play any role in his falling out has simply not studied Malcolm X comprehensively enough. Many many months later, in late September 1964 - long after he had been put out of the NOI - he wrote a letter from Cairo, Egypt stating that Elijah Muhammad is a religious faker, that the NOI is racist and “pseudo-religious” (aka a cult) and that he “will not rest until [he] has undone all the harm” he caused to “well-meaning Negroes who now believe in Elijah Muhammad even more blindly than I did.” He stated later that he wanted to spread the true orthodox Islam. He states in the letter I mentioned that he had been “misused” by Elijah Muhammad. This got published in The NY Times and based on FBI files and the account of some who knew Malcolm at the time, the NOI had been finally ready to leave him alone, but when they saw that he was basically calling them a cult and that he planned on spreading orthodox Islam, that did in fact anger the leadership of the NOI and Brother Malcolm started getting more death threats and attempts on his life. So orthodox Islam did play a role. Of course, the NOI cared. They feared that if their followers learned Sunni Islam, they would leave the NOI and join Brother Malcolm’s Muslim Mosque, Inc.

I have read about the founder of NAtion of Islam, according to founder "Wallace Fard Muhammad".....his beliefs on Islam are 1. He is GOD and no prophet is last which is totally not Islam....but this organization still works....does anybody know...today are they real muslims or just non-muslim with false beliefs????

If one race think they are superior to another then it is a supremacist group. Since the NOI pushes that the black man is the original man many are cautious whether or not they are actually for the advancement of African Americans or just pushing on agenda. @@code187G Malcom was out of line??? I'm a muslim from ARABIA (place of origin) and I can tell you 6 wives is definitely not allowed and is forbidden by god. Do you think following the teachings of a self claimed prophet (Fard) is the right way of islam? No it isn't the last prophet is Muhammad PBUH. So no he wasn't wrong they were, they couldn't accept it and killed him because the truth hurts. And if they really follow islam, they should know the severe punishment of killing a muslim.
