Mark/Brent will never truly get the recognition he deserves in terms of pioneering a whole industry in which he has been at the forefront of for long time. The hate he receives only goes to show the level of power and popularity he has gained whilst being continually told he is not a “real fan” which is truly remarkable. From the Overlap to other “podcasts” and channels now all have in some way emulated and borrowed from United Stands formula which in turn only goes to show the true depth of his influence. They hate to admit it because football commentary has become so toxic and polarised but many many owe Mark for their successes and beginning’s. He is an easy target particularly where United is concerned because he is a lot more accessible unlike the Glazers or Sir Jim is. Which means he is at the forefront of a lot of abuse when that energy should be spent at the people who yield true power. At the end of the day he is merely a man, a camera, in a room with an opinion and yet United fans don’t unite and direct their frustrations at who matters. Time will tell and perfect he is not, however we are all entitled a voice and United fans in specific need to exert more energy where it counts, where it matters and where true change can come from.

I'll give you an example, Goldbridge criticizes Jamie Carragher a lot because he's a Premier League commentator, who gives his opinion on how to play and how to win the Premier League and gets hated on by Mark because he never won the Premier League. Why doesn't he apply to himself what he applies to others? What game fundamentals does Mark have? Mark remids me of piers morgan. Ramps up an act for the cameras. When he does interviews like this he is calm and measured. But clearly plays up to the act for views (same as piers morgan).
