Terrible shows! Minimal cinema releases! Poorly integrated politics! Why is media so terrible right now, and why despite us shouting loudly that we don't want it, does it keep happening? I have a theory.

I find it fascinating how you manage to make compelling arguments without having to constantly read notes or a script. Trust me, I watched the whole thing and the lack of clips, as you point out throughout the video, was never a distraction or diminished the quality of the video or the points being made. It actually works better because allowing the audience to watch you, the person behind the statements, makes the whole experience feel more sincere and honest. Though the video may not have as much views as others, trust me here, you made an excellent job with this one and I couldn't help but agree with you almost completely! Thank you for making it.

Was glad to spend the time to watch your video! With Netflix and Disney introducing subscription tiers supported by advertising, not sure if that will prolong the trend or hasten the end🙄

That's a very interesting point. I hadn't considered that when writing but I guess in the end I would just very guessing. We'll have to see what happens and just hope for better stuff. Actually watch The Sandman right now on Netflix. Not sure if this is my comic book purist side talking but I'm not sure how to feel about it.

I stayed away from the 'Disney World is a Dystopian Nightmare' video because the title seems like hyperbolic click bait. I'm really trying to find analytical content these days and not just critical. One finds diamonds in the rough and even gives rational arguments for and against a decision; the other seems to just tear down everything. I want to spend my time on content that engages in rational thought (even if I disagree sometimes) which is why I appreciate what you are doing here.

I really respect that way if watching content. It's what I really wanted to promote with this video. In terms of the Disney video. I get why you'd avoid it. The title does seem click baity but from my judgement the youtuber Savantics is dramatic for comedic effect. To me she feels honest and that's why I like her. But as I said in the video, the line us different for everyone. I try to find youtubers who have different views than I do as well because on KZbin it's really hard not to get caught in an echo chamber.

Kuerig and K-cups are one example of waste and overuse of plastics. brew a ducking pot or use a french press all ready. If you are truly someone who cares about the environment . . . .seriously just think of how many are in NY landfills

That's why I have a proper machine. When I got my house that had to be in the budget. Also pop coffee tastes awful. French press coffee is pretty good but not as rich and it takes ages.

I watched the first episode of said Green Lawyer and stopped at that point. It was bad so there wasn't any point to continue. I explained to my family how bad it was and not to watch it, then pretty much stopped talking about it; though I did like a video making fun of her claims about dealing with anger. As long as something isn't offensively bad, there is no real reason to get as up in arms about it as people do.

You sound so chill :) despite this being the behaviour I try to live by I do have to admit, the irrational urge to get angry and argue is always there for me. I know it's irrational and there's no point but I still feel it anyway. It's something I'm working on. :) Whereas my brother is a lot like you in the sense that if he doesnt like something he doesn't care.

I actually lived in Nagoya but I took trips to Tokyo. Nagoya is a pretty boring place to visit but a great place to live. People are much more chill over there than Tokyo. Plus it's close to a lot of interesting cities so day trips were so easy. I'm dying to go back and see all my friends but Japan still isn't opening up for foreigners. :(

Political marketing always ruins the Brand. As yes they destroyed their own property.. You think they will buy that companies products again. When it comes time to replace them? So the marketing scheme is a short term solution. Just as firing people. Then outsourcing their replacements is a short term solution..Just to raise a stock price $1.00 a share is.

I actually sort of follow this already. Thanks to Justice League Crap: Shitopolips Dump, I have found myself boycotting (really avoiding would be the right term) every single animated DC media that has come out since. After DCAMU Superboy was taken from me and bound to never ever return ever again no matter what, I just lost all enjoyment with DC animation and have avoided it ever since without even realizing I haven't seen even an episode of the Timmverse, Teen Titans or YJ S1-S2 in years. I can't even watch Reign of the Supermen without getting genuinely upset and I love that movie. But basically since I know I'm going to hate the new universes they make, I just avoid them all. I want my boy back.

I disagree that fans making videos online trashing media, helps or gives those properties free advertisement. Theres been plenty of flops of recent media youtubers have trashed. Like Lightyear, Netflix's Cowboy Bebop and Resident Evil series.
@whyitdoesntworkforme9206
@whyitdoesntworkforme9206 2 жыл бұрын
You're right about that but I don't think those specific properties were made with 'make things cheaply and market them via online discourse' method. At least I didnt judge them to be. You may disagree. But that is something I forgot to mention I my video that not ALL Media is being made this way. Just a significant enough number that it is a problem.

Hbomberguy’s “Woke Brands” video covers a lot of what you talked about here about people unintentionally advertising brands they hate. It’s often hard to pick and choose your battles in regard to which media you want to criticize and which is better left alone for you. Especially when considering the loyalty people have to a lot of these IP’s. I also don’t blame you for avoiding the discourse on the green lady at all. Everything surrounding that show has been a mess.
@whyitdoesntworkforme9206
@whyitdoesntworkforme9206 2 жыл бұрын
I think you hit the nail on the head when about picking your battles. It's hard and there's no specific criteria or way to do. Everyone is going to think differently about what they consider important to cover. In terms on that unnamed show that is kind of what pushed me to make this video because it beggered belief how insulting to an audience that was concerning effort, talent, production... basically everything.

Have you ever seen the movie Network? It might not be as relevant to this discussion as I'm thinking but I couldn't help but be reminded of it. Particularly the "The World is a Business" speech.
