If there were some viable way for the average man to get that companionship elsewhere in today's day and age, there wouldn't be a market for those chatbots in the first place. If 90% of us would otherwise be lonely and single for life, I think harming society is a price worth paying if it means we get some semblance of companionship, even if it lacks the depth or physical affection that a (healthy and successful) real-life relationship can provide. I'm not going to opt into a miserable and lonely life just because it helps the society that's responsible for throwing me and other men like me in this position in the first place.

Well to be honest here. I am not surprised that AI will replace women as companions which I find quite alarming in some aspects. You're one of the very few in these comments with this point. And you're right. Most people are too lazy and think there's nothing they can do about it. I try and show empathy to everyone. As a woman, from my view, when I ask a man how their day was or how they feel I get brushed off or in some cases they call me an insane feminist, then preach about how "all women are the same" and how they cant find a woman... I had a guy who romantically liked me, but he had a lot of mental problems, I'm nowhere near a professional so what I did was give him general suggestions, suggested he get actual help, but he'd constantly turn that down and beg to be with me instead. As if that is a "fix it all". I had no attraction to him, because I'm a lesbian, I have a girlfriend, it would have hurt me to tell him. I still saw this man as my very very close friend, I liked him platonically and what friends do, I only wished he'd feel good, that he'd focus on helping himself instead of chasing something that wont ultimately bring him happiness. He never showed back empathy, he never cared for other people and had the attidute that nothing was ever his problem. He thought it was "cringe" and "weak" and eventually I had to stop being friends with him because it was too much for me. When he started insulting me and saying how video games and AI are so much better to him. Which is just running away from the problem.

The gap between AI and real women is narrowing. As time approaches infinity, this gap will be asymptotic with 0. But long before that point, men will have 2 choices.... 1. Continue to be shunned by women and know nothing but pain from them. 2. Gravitate towards AI women despite the fact they are not real. For now, the contest is legit. Between advances in robotics and virtual reality apparatus, it will not be long before humans and AI can have physical interactions that have many aspects of reality. At some point, the AI will dominate despite being inferior to real women in some ways. Once that shift happens, men will become acclimated to the idea of AI women and will almost certainly PREFER them to women in the abstract. At that point, dating actual women will rapidly move into the realm of fetish, which is the exact opposite of the current situation. Will AI women wind up getting all the male attention? It is hard to say, but what is quite clear is that, just like in football, the most important ability is availability. In the not too distant future, a large percentage of men will lose all interest in human women and focus on AI women. When one considers the massive amount of money and energy being devoted to crude formats such as OF and porn, it is pretty clear that these new devices will become the PRIMARY sexual outlet and relationship outlet for vast numbers of men who currently struggle. In fact, the whole role of provider will probably disappear. Since love and money were never a good mix, this is a good thing. You wanna know the answer to the title of this vid? Here it is When society lack the empathy for men (especially woke women), men feel unloved. Then, when they are at our most vulnerable (which we can't really think rationally) an AI pops up and say: "hey are you okay? I'm always there for you. I understand what you've been through it must be tough" and so on... of course they prefer AI's empathy than the "I don't care" act of society. Although I'm not a fan of AI girlfriends, it is the reason behind this phenomenon.
